A nation’s competitiveness is anchored on the quality of its skills base, the productivity of its workforce and the capacity of its institutions to translate knowledge into practical solutions.

Today, the Aldai Technical Training Institute fraternity celebrated the graduation of 1,086 trainees whose technical competencies, innovation and expertise will contribute significantly to Kenya’s socio-economic transformation, industrial advancement and national development.

As the Government continues to strengthen the TVET sector, priority remains on developing a globally competitive workforce equipped with skills that respond effectively to evolving industry demands locally and internationally. The deliberate efforts by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H to open international labour markets for skilled Kenyan youth, thereby expanding pathways for employment, productivity and economic empowerment are appreciated.

Labour mobility is already creating new opportunities, as demonstrated by the 18 Aldai TTI graduates who have secured employment opportunities abroad in the agricultural sector. This achievement highlights the growing international recognition of Kenyan TVET graduates and underscores the critical role of quality technical training in enhancing employability and national competitiveness.

TVET remains a vital pillar in building a skilled, innovative and self-reliant nation. I challenged the graduates to embrace the future with confidence, professionalism and a commitment to lifelong learning, applying their knowledge and skills to create value, drive enterprise and develop solutions to societal challenges.
