We Muslims need to be honest with ourselves.
Right now, a lot of the world sees us as a problem.
And our attitude isn't helping.
We demand respect, but we don't give any.
We get offended by everything, from a song to a Christmas tree.
We move to other people's countries, then complain they don't live like us.
We lose an argument, and we start cursing.
Then we cry that the world hates Muslims.
The world doesn't hate Islam.
It's tired of us.

@kfeyyazz Typical victim-blaming.
What you should be saying is not, “She went to a dangerous place, so what happened was unavoidable.”
You should be asking why women are put in danger like that in the first place, and reflecting on why that environment allows it to happen.
@leesformo More times than I can count, actually.
And even at the airport, I remember men trying to get customers for taxis or other services being so rude that they would just grab people by the arm to get their attention.
@bintgunaim I did learn something. In my own experience, Muslim men who treated women with the same respect as the gentlemen I first met in the UK were far less common than I had expected.
@ismiiaziizah67 Yeah, I understand that they are different countries. I did have some unpleasant experiences in the UAE too, but I spent much less time there than in Saudi. Based on my own experience, I did feel safer in the UAE, although I mostly stayed in tourist areas when I visited.
@shinadardic I have no obligation to disclose my personal information to you.
If it bothers you that much, just call me a racist.
But whether you believe me or not, your denial does not erase what I actually experienced.
@7ahrov@cptten I’m not really sure what you’re trying to say. But I have a negative perception of Muslim men because of my own experiences, and if you’ve developed a similar prejudice from yours…
Okay, I guess we’re both just prejudiced racists.
@Princess9k9 And honestly, those experiences did leave me with prejudice and fear. Because of that, I do not want the size or influence of Islamic religious communities in my country to grow beyond what it is now.
That is all I am asking for.
@Princess9k9 Alright. Then let’s say men in general.
That said, a large share of the experiences I went through happened with men in Muslim-majority countries. Whether they were “real Muslims” or “fake Muslims,” I still hope that the people who behaved that way are held accountable someday.
