@MrPitbull07 That's just awful. I had the reverse happen. I had Stage 4 results released to me via the portal, with a follow up note to get my affairs in order!
This was 2 weeks before Christmas, 2024. I got a second opinion which discovered the dx was wrong, but it took 2 mos of waiting.
@marketswithmay@GeriPerna@WellsFargo I did that once. I was on way to hospital and made my boyfriend (now hubby) stop, to have cash on hand in case I was admitted. Bank is hassling about giving cash for $3k / offered cashier check. I'm like you don't have enough cash?!? And doubled over in pain. I got my cash!
@DiaryofaSickGrl I had a cardiologist Rx me meds I was allergic to, 4x in a row! The first time, I filled it and the pharmacy wouldn't refund me, now I ask lots of questions. 2nd time, I paid for specific appt w/Dr to discuss and avoid whole class of meds (sulfa). By 4th time, I switched Drs.
@DrNeilStone I've had 20+ years of these vaccines because I think flu vaccines are mRNA based.
The only time I wasn't "fine" was my 2nd C vaccine. Hubs and I were very sick for 2+ wks, not w/ C but fatigue/side effects.
New house rule, we get vaccines at least a week apart.
@Derek_a_Franks I recently explained this to a therapist and she said I have health anxiety. I explain that is when you fear things that aren't going to happen. I rightly so fear pathogens bc I am immunocompromised and on immunosuppressants; without masks, I'd be taking on huge risks.
@SalamonSMD I had keen interest in epidemiology in college but not enough $$ to pursue. However, kept informal studies up - my niche of interest was respiratory disease in general and influenza specifically. So that probably didn't hurt.
@SalamonSMD I started reading about novel pneumonia in China in late 2019. In early 2020, it made it to USA. Had talk w/ spouse, to stay alive long enough to wait for a cure. (I'm chronically ill and was sole earner.) Began masking in early 2020.
We are Novids afaik.
@theHauteMesh@1goodtern I am immune compromised and I take strong immunosuppressants. I rarely get a temp even when I'm v. ill. My rheumatologist said that's a side effect. I got sick last Oct (not C, I tested) and honestly felt myself slipping away. I went off my immune suppressants & got better.
@ThrillaRilla369 I would ABSOLUTELY report! My version of "animal abuse" is giving my dog their allotment of Oreos on special occasions. I made appt to discuss w/ vet in advance re: safety (very little actual chocolate).
