Dear PM! Spending on higher education is not expenditure, it is an investment in #Pakistan’s future. Respect higher education and researchers by reinstating the tax rebate.

The government must recognize that investing in teachers is investing in the future. Restoring the 25% tax rebate is essential to motivate educators and maintain academic standards.

The abolition of the 25% tax rebate undermines efforts to attract and retain young scholars in Pakistan’s universities. Without financial incentives, the risk of brain drain grows, weakening our higher education system.

The @GovtofPakistan must prioritize education by reinstating the 25% tax rebate for university faculty and researchers. This is not just a tax issue but a matter of national development and innovation.

The 25% tax rebate restoration was a vital relief for teachers, but its recent abolition reverses progress. Teachers deserve not only tax relief but also fair salaries and education allowances to foster a focused learning environment.

Abolishing the 25% tax rebate sends a negative message to teachers and researchers who are the backbone of national development. The government should consider subsidies or special allowances to retain top academic talent.

Despite repeated proposals by the Federal Board of Revenue, the IMF has rejected the continuation of the 25% tax rebate for teachers and researchers starting July 2025. The government must find alternative ways to support educators.

The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations strongly condemns the abolition of the longstanding tax rebate for university faculty. Removing this incentive threatens Pakistan’s research capacity and academic excellence.

We are delighted to share that the First International Symposium on Medication Safety, organized by the Department of Pharmacy at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, was held successfully on 18th June 2025.
This impactful event united students, academics, clinicians, and healthcare experts to discuss key issues such as safe prescribing, medication error prevention, and pharmacy residency programs, all in support of the WHO’s “Medication Without Harm” initiative.
As a university educator, I am disappointed to see the 25% tax rebate abolished. Hard work deserves recognition, not added financial burden!
