But, it needs to be said by more Democrats: this was not an impeachable offense, and Trump did not need congressional approval for one precision attack under the circumstances, just as Obama did not when striking Bin Laden. Why can’t our Party just say it’s great we achieved the objective and destroyed Iran’s nuclear sites, god bless the soldiers who carried this out and made it home safely, god bless our country, military, allies, and we look forward to a full intel briefing. 🇺🇸. If one must then assert Congressional authority at the moment, add that any escalation will require congressional approval. And if you must, express concern for where this may go and what might come next.

They can’t sell to Europe because they don’t have the consumer power, and they can’t sell to themselves because their birth-rates cratered. Once China can’t sell, they have to lay off their workers; the communists don’t want a billion angry unemployed Chinese... that’s how regimes get toppled. But we must let Xi Jinping lose face gracefully. A quick violent death makes us collateral damage, so we have to lower the Chinese casket into the ground diplomatically. And China can’t afford to play the long game, because the rest of Asia is racing to negotiate with us. @realDonaldTrump could go to China like Nixon did and rewire the world all over again. I don’t know how any of this is going to end, or when it’s going to end but I do know every phone at the White House is ringing. Trump's team is having to put world leaders on hold. The Philippines, Cambodia, and Thailand are all ready to slash tariffs. But Trump’s not just handing deals out willy nilly.
