@rtenews The new bridge is a perfectly normal thing that will improve the lives of the people living locally. It’s a pity that whenever a new bridge is discussed for congested Galway City that people try to paint it as controversial and that it will make or break global climate change.
@kryan4@rtenews Yes but a snail can stop it in Galway but such human friendly features as the Shannon bridge has cannot even be considered. A dedicated cycle lane for example “had not an established desire line” established at the time of the traffic survey?

@rtenews Whereas the proposed new ring road bridge in Galway was designed as a motorway bridge with none of those community friendly features. I was advised during consultation it was “outside our brief “ to even consider such things on an NRA project.
