I've been using a reel mower for this season in an attempt to lower my carbon footprint. Older gas lawnmowers are inefficient where the air pollution released a 1 hour session equates to driving 550 km! I was stopped by 3 neighbors today asking if I wanted to use their gas mower.

@Christina_Davy @riskindan @SaveWildBees Hmm... Not that I can find (but I'm no expert). I don't think we have "periodical cicadas" that synchronize their emergence, but there are "annual cicadas" that have lifecycles >1y but they don't all emerge in the same year.

Cool fact - in August 2019 a beautiful biologically rich wetland complex @TrentUniversity was officially recognized as a Provincially Significant Wetland. I've highlighted Pioneer Road in yellow and roughly the campus boundary in red. @CityPtbo @CityPtbo @PtboNature @TrentArthur
