Yeah, there’s like a million good reasons to have anxiety with type 1 diabetes.
Running out of insulin.
Running out of CGM sensors.
Running out of test strips.
Severe low and can’t get to food.
Severe high and can’t get to insulin.
Stomach bug that sends you into DKA.
Trying to make your blood sugar work with the plans non-diabetics have for meals or exercise.
Insurance company denying coverage for insulin or pump supplies or CGM sensors or all of the above!
The cost of all this stuff that keeps us alive!
The people who lecture us every time we eat anything.
The people who lecture us every time our blood sugar isn’t perfect.
The diabetics who criticize other diabetics.
The non-diabetics who keep asking if you’re gonna lose your feet and die like their grandma did.
The fear of going to sleep at night and hoping your blood sugar doesn’t crash.
Going to sleep at night and hoping your pump doesn’t fail.
Okay, I’m tired. What else gives you anxiety with type 1 diabetes?
You’re definitely not alone.
