Today is a good day to talk about one of the most under the radar tokens in all of crypto right now.

Why im picking today to talk about it comes at a time where I think Base is at a crossroads.

The current suite of tokens running on Base belong to clearly defined teams and projects.

You guys must understand the real meaning of Intellectual Property ("IP").

This is different from $TROLL who really got the IP. Troll has a known, traceable creator — Carlos Ramirez (Whynne) drew it in 2008, registered U.S. copyright in 2010, and actively licensed it.

$TROLL paid him a six-figure deal for exclusive worldwide IP rights. That’s real, enforceable ownership from the actual artist.

RageGuy is the complete opposite. The screaming FFFFFUUUU face was born in 2008 on 4chan /b/ — the very first rage comic, a raw anonymous MS Paint toilet splashback that invented the entire genre.

No single creator ever claimed it, no copyright filed, no traceable owner. It’s treated as public domain internet folklore that anyone could (and did) redraw in MS Paint.

Dan Awesome’s RageMaker tool didn’t exist until 2011 (3 full years later). It was just one of several popular generators (Memebase Ragebuilder was another) — a free web tool anyone could use, not sacred IP.

The tool is a fan-made editor, not the origin. Buying the old domain years later is like buying an old Photoshop brush pack and claiming you own the art style.

Owning a later generator is like buying an old meme sticker pack — nice nostalgia, but it doesn’t mean you own the character.

Every major meme archive (KnowYourMeme, Wikipedia, etc.) traces it straight back to that 2008 post, not to any website or tool.

sadly, i was amongst the 14% of staff that got layed off today 😥
