@creativequeer This reminds me of how a bunch of queer activists turned themselves in to the police for spreading gay propaganda in Finland in 1990. Back then it was illegal to publicly "encourage" homosexuality.
In preparation for season two:
How long do you like your podcast episodes?
Of course this varies with genre, topics, personal liking ... Still, we'd like to know!
(We're aiming for monthly/bi-monthly with a ten episode season)
I just updated my list of articles chronicling the right wing teaming up with TERFs and/or appropriating their rhetoric (thanks to @transscribe & @estherxlwang for writing them!):

On the gentrification of queer folklife:
Gentrification is a process that shifts the fabric of a neighbourhood - more affluent people/businesses in, poorer people out.
Here @folkyousarah talks about how a practice - drag - is gentrified
Today's Queer As Folk(lore) panel at #afsam19 has me ruminating on, among other things, the gentrification of queer folklife. In particular, the presentation from Aaron Paige at ArtsWinchester Has me thinking about the paper on drag that I've long thought about writing 1/
watching trump supporters tweet that actually I am wrong and that the Village People song “YMCA” “can’t be gay” bc “that wouldn’t have been tolerated back then” has taught me more about how queer culture gets erased over time than 8 years acquiring a literature PhD ever did
Behind the St. Clemens Danes on the Strand was the former location of Holywell Street, an alleyway notorious for its radical politics and erotica. Political movements for the working class were based here, such as Chartism, funded by profits from erotica. #queerheritage
I say this a lot, but helping folks realize they're trans and/or come out more publicly is the greatest joy of my entire life. I love you so much and I'm so honored to be a tiny part of your ~journey~. Thank you for being you. #NationalComingOutDay
"So the real tea is: you don’t choose to be trans, but you do choose to transition — just like you don’t choose to be gay, but you do choose to come out. Queerness is inherent but it’s also actionable, and there is power in that action," writes @rosedommu. https://t.co/ySloTDwdZc
Happy #NationalComingOutDay! Whether or not you're openly LGBT, never forget you are a valid, important part of our community. Wherever you are in your own personal journey, we're here and we're proud of you 🌈
"While leatherdykes have had to, since the very beginnings of leather community, fight to establish spaces of their own, there has always been a purpose—an intentionality—that leaves room for more dyke space in its wake."
So I'm watching True Blood again because I never actually finished it. And it is increasingly clear to me that whoever wrote the script was just living out sexual fantasies that they never got to experience irl. That is literally the entire show.

Reclaiming South Africa's Townships Through Queer Culture The settlements can be dangerous places for queer people. The subjects of photographer Lee-Ann Olwage's #BlackDragMagic want to change that. https://t.co/cfDUAeXG8j #photo#photography
