Everything the gay community has gained has been thanks to trans folks. Everything. And many at the forefront have been trans women of color. Trans people are not new. Trans people have always been, and always will be. And it's time white cis gays remember that. #TDOV 🧵/15
A big thank you to @TheyAreJett and their friends for speaking to me about pride night at Nationals Park on Wednesday and what the event meant to them:

@CurtisHouck The only thing "exhausting and pathetic" here is your excuses for a bunch of mediocre men who happen to be good at a sport. Hope this helps 😘🖕
@frank_seravalli With all due disrespect, fuck you. Imagine thinking that a hockey writer could hold multiple thoughts simultaneously. Surely couldn't be you. 😘🖕
"veteran attorney and lead labor negotiator since 2018" gives me a lot more confidence than known unrepentant homophobe who was on the MLBPA board that one time
BREAKING: Bruce Meyer has been unanimously elected as executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association, sources tell ESPN. Meyer, who was previously the No. 2 at the union, becomes the sixth executive director in the union’s history.
@lawbibliophile@MichiganColt@Dodgers@Braves@Royals@Mets@SFGiants He's been openly transphobic, and has a history of being racist. It's too bad Outsports has such a wide reach. He's no friend of anyone who isn't cis and white. To be avoided whenever possible.

There is no way to keep me as a subscriber if there is no @PostSports. @JeffBezos: WE live here. This is OUR local paper. These are OUR teams. This is OUR @PostSports. #SaveThePost

Literally. I used to subscribe for a lot more reasons; I'm from this area, this is my paper. I strongly considered cancelling my sub multiple times over the last ~decade. The sportswriters are the only reason I haven't. 3/4 #SaveThePost
I also have a collection of newspapers at home (I'm on the road for work or I would have taken a picture of the stack - it's not small). All of this, including my status as a subscriber, has one very specific detail in common: sports. 2/4 #SaveThePost
I am a Washington Post subscriber, not an employee. I do have 2 WaPo bylines, though - one was even in print. I've been quoted in stories (both online and in print) more than half a dozen times. 1/4 #SaveThePost
As someone who’s been involved in queer athletics for more than a decade, the run this show is having has been so amazing to watch. And this scene is the beautiful rebuttal the “why do athletes need to tell us their sexuality” chodes need to hear.
