@mentisprecinct 🤣😂ayoo God forbid but hopefully that’s his first point of care and not the many other facilities whose system is in shambles.
Ghana will happen to all of us!
GMA and the doctors at KATH are acting as if they are demigods and no one can touch them. It is totally absurd for the CEO to have gone contrary to the directive of the health minister and the President to shut down the emergency ward at KATH.
We were in this country when CEOs of various institutions are asked to step aside or go on suspension when there is an issue for an investigation to be conducted so it is not wrong or any different for the health minister to have requested the board chairman of KATH to ask the CEO to go on a two-week suspension.
The strike action by the doctors of KATH is the most senseless and absurd by any organization.
Solidarity is not to go on strike for this issue as if the CEO was voted for or appointed by the doctors. If you care to know, the CEO is a government appointee under a sectoral minister and by extension the government so he can be sacked anytime if it is supposed to be.
The shutdown of the emergency ward was senseless and anyone who supports it must rethink and advise themselves from attempting to advise any child in this world.
Some doctors can not show any government how to govern.
What the CEO did was BS!
The strike by KATH doctors is BS!!!
The statement by the GMA is pure nonsense!!!!
@Seazzer@DrManful26 “He works at goldbod”…till he needs an emergency care and cannot move out but has to be seen on the floor in a queue here.
Ghana will happen to everybody la
The president is equally not a demigod and as far as patient safety is concerned he is not as experienced as the orthopedic surgeon. You can't give a directive and go to sleep and return with this logic. There are real risks for patients in overcrowded situations.
Clinicians don't take clinical instructions from politicians. They owe a duty to their patients not any politician. The CEO is not just a public official. He's a seasoned clinician who knows more about patient safety than you and your boss.
@GhLawTrends …this same Labour Act651 talk about safe working conditions, equal pay for equal work, maximum working hours and what do we see? This healthcare system is littered with unsafe working conditions for patients and HCWs, underpaid HCWs doing absurd hours, etc Or we didn’t see that bit?
Not CEO’s fault that A&E for 37 patients is flooded with 95. KATH’s problem is inadequate capacity; not the CEO. Fix the problem & stop the optic circus. ‘You don’t blame the cook when the pot is too small’.
-Larteh Proverb😡!
@Seazzer Fair enough. Until you’re not stable to fly to access your healthcare abroad there they’ll know.
Ghana will happen to all of us sooner or later if we don’t do the right thing.
See NLC too😭😭💔
Your labour force is overwhelmed, they work in unhealthy and unsafe environment, underpaid(even that it’s not on time), working absurd hours.… that you don’t see
It’s the KADA strike that you see.
Continue wai!
