@WordAware No, just supporting a young person to understand the process and prepare for the meeting. There are so many ways the issues with language and social communication could affect both sides of the conversation that's it hard to know where to start

Yesterday was another great day!
Helped a caseworker to plan sessions on weapon awareness and peer pressure for a young person with DLD. General simplification of language wasnt working so we looked at other ways.
One inspired caseworker, one satisfied SLT 😌

Really useful meeting with the Digital Team to think about adapting all the communication that is shared with their young people. Learning all round! Lots of new ideas in my brain as well as feeling helpful. A good day 😌
As a therapist, I'm not here to fix or make better. That notion implies something is 'wrong'. It sits within a medical model. I'm here to help others achieve outcomes that are meaningful for them; to respect autonomy; to facilitate, not direct.
Leaving custody is really hard, jobs give not only funds to live but routine, a feeling of self-worth and a community around you. If you can help or know someone who can please do.

I'm wanting to do more that makes a real life difference and it feels like you are achieving
