@BenVerlander Always wondered if northern schools that practice indoors for half the year are more likely to develop yips since they spend so much time on gym floors and carpet turf.
@youdoingtoomuch What bothers me here is that her kids earned full merit scholarships and she still feels like she has a say in what they study. She's not paying tuition; she has zero say. The kids are clearly smart and driven enough to succeed if they're on 100% tuition academic scholarship.
@eveforamerica I think this point becomes somewhat null when you consider that the kids were on full-tuition scholarships. Assuming about $900/month rent with roommates, the kid is in a great financial position. Don't major in pure fine arts, sure, but there's more than 5 in-demand fields.
@NCAADIII This is likely for the best. In a world where d3 students could redshirt for non-medical reasons, kids may be pressured by coaches to pay for an extra year of schooling (no d3 scholarships allowed). Arguably a big win.
@EricMulhair@zach_seyko I'd argue allar regressed. Emblematic of the program rather than Drew himself. Watch his first ever start against WVU and he's an unrecognizable QB
@bobbyfijan There's no place for kids to play rec sports past the age of 10. Adults have turned sports into a business and ruined what was once an invaluable part of growing up. Not good enough/don't care enough to play club (and pay $2k+)? I guess you have to find another hobby.
@LDS_Dems AP credits also let you blow through pre-reqs and allow you to open your schedule in college to either take lighter semesters to allow more extracurricular time or let you take elective classes you really care about. Not to mention graduating early if that's your goal.
@HelmetAddict I think the all-black uniform trend has to die out, especially for schools with iconic color schemes. While cool at first, all-black uniforms have stopped being sleek and entered into feeling redundant. Oregon has a top 5 color scheme in college sports, use it!
@HD_DirtKing Easier to stand up to the little guy than the rich. God forbid a kid can afford to get an education, but tuck your tail between your legs when you have to reign in 25-year-old athletes transferring to their third school.
@CoachRyanHunter@CollegeBTOS I remember in high school when I helped out with the broadcasting for graduation, football games, basketball games, and orchestra concerts. I had little-to-no training (neither did the other kids helping) and it turned out great. It's fun and easy--should be a no-brainer for ADs.
