@billycarpy That makes sense to me. The question is who’s the optimal left back next to someone who loves to jump the first pass - a certain Japanese fellow comes to mind, tragically
@billycarpy@billycarpy I can’t see him at LCB in this team. He’s so jumpy and while that’s great at LB, the OOP structure gets thrown off with it.
Also, annoying to constrain that final third ability at CB.
@billycarpy Think the thing is without the shot, the lack of creativity of his right foot gets really maximized and teams force him into channels. His inability to curl either a cross or a shot at pace is also still baffling.
@scottjwillis I have no idea if you can quantify it, but frequency of him turning his back to the opposing goal - I think it’s symptomatic of his one footedness.
Additionally, a complete lack of variation in ballstriking technique. He doesn’t have the curler in the locker.
@scottjwillis He’s very easy to game plan against for sides who have athletic 8s. You can essentially scheme him out of a game because he isn’t great in transition either as a runner or a passer and he cannot ( or will not) use his right foot to the point where teams respect it.
@billycarpy Slightly too strong for me. Shaktar have been pretty dreadful so far - think this Partey/Zinchenko/Jesus in for Rice/Gabriel/Havertz. Either kiwior or Calafiori LCB.
@scottjwillis Also created two goals directly from high turnovers vs Bolton. This is just folks feeling anxiety that every turnover that we suffer turns into a goal.
