So @quintewest Mayor Harrison has said another tax increase is coming for 2026. When will the city start cutting costs rather than place the increased burden on residents every year? They hope to keep it below 6% but we all know that number is to soften the blow of 5% guaranteed.
Was it @quintewest crew or contractor that broke the water line that has inconvenienced city tax payers. No water yet. Will we get money off on the next bill? Will we also get a rebate having to drain hot water tank & fill it with good water to be heated? What is taking so long?
TRENTON WATER MAIN BREAK UPDATE #4

For once I hope @JustinTrudeau shows backbone and hits back hard at Trump and his tariffs when he speaks at 8:30 tonight. He’s still PM & needs to fight back and hurt them and wake up the MAGA supporters who don’t have a clue how their leader is going to hurt them. #cdnpoli
@quintenews@BellevilleON I just want to say thanks to @quintenews for continuing to leave comments open and embracing the social aspect of this platform. Positive or negative comments should be allowed. A shame @InQuinteNews doesn’t believe in free speech. 🎤
Tried going to the @OJHLGoldenHawks game last night but all of the smokers standing outside the entrance triggered an asthma attack & I had to leave before getting inside. I won’t make that mistake again. I guess no smoking in @quintewest public parks doesn’t apply there.
@quintenews I see yet another tax increase coming next year to offset the poor spending decisions made by the city. Maybe stop hiring staff and buying vehicles is a good place to start. Let’s not forget the money pit the marina has been since day one.
The City of @quintewest needs to do the same thing and not wait for a tragic completely avoidable accident to happen. I see off leash unmuzzled dangerous dogs in our community all of the time. Zero enforcement by police or bylaw. Stop waiting for a death before you react. #onpoli
I was driving down several streets on Wednesday in Trenton and I wondered if there’s any chance they’ll be resurfaced in my lifetime. Sidney, North Murray, Division, Front and Bay Streets come to mind. All well used roads in disrepair.

@quintenews Sounds like a good idea. Now if only they’d hire a police force to actually enforce the rules of the road like the Trenton Police were very good at doing. Seems the OPP are only concerned with big splashy arrests and seizures. Get back to community policing and hand out tickets.
I’m surprised there has been no mention of this on @quintenews or @InQuinteNews websites so far regarding the serious accident on the Hwy 2 bridge between Trenton & Brighton. My sources say one possible fatality. Hopefully our local news sources can get more details.
@quintenews They own the property and the building isn’t designated as a heritage property so they are well within their rights to do what they want with it. Sad to see it go but a prime piece of land can’t waste away.
Just curious, when was the last time @quintewest made cuts internally or stopped programs instead of asking residents to pay more taxes while getting less in return. Plenty of fat to be trimmed at the city level but they don’t eat their own.
So @quintewest is raising the price of garbage bag tags again to $3.25. I don’t have a lot of garbage personally but I feel this is still an unnecessary increase. When you see where the city is hemorrhaging tax dollars elsewhere this is unfair to punish residents.
