Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, reveals how Abacha told people that him, MKO Abiola and Shehu Yara'dua won't come out of detention alive.

Shehu Yar'Adua was injected with a virus while MKO Abiola was poisoned.

So they tried to inject Obj with a virus but their plan failed.

A military doctor approached Obasanjo under the guise of taking his blood for a test.

But Obasanjo refused his blood to be taken.

He insisted on using another doctor he trusted. The doctor took his blood and gave to the military doctor.

Lee Kuan Yew in 2001 on the conditions that are required before democracy can work.

This view sharply contrasts with the Western belief that electoral democracy is a universal good that can be instantly implemented anywhere. He criticized this idea as naive and disconnected from history.

He argued that a functioning democracy requires a strong foundational consensus.

A society must agree on a shared identity, core values, and a common vision for the future for a democracy to function. He cautioned that if a nation cannot settle on these fundamental points, democracy turns into a competition for resources among tribes.
Today, his skepticism seems strikingly accurate as the West faces severe political divides, institutional standstills, and a significant struggle to agree on basic realities.
