Proud of @DNC@dscc@dccc for coming together to call out big tech companies and their ad policy PR stunts. Facebook, Twitter, and Google need to address fake content and transparency standards on their platforms NOT limit our ability to reach voters.
Google’s decision to limit the targeting ability of political advertisers on its platform is a mistake that won’t solve the actual problem and will instead seriously hurt smaller campaigns and causes — especially Democratic and progressive ones. https://t.co/dvUHaqpb2T
Political staffers are content-producers and should take every opportunity possible to learn from journalists. Here's one. -->

First it was joint petitions. Now it’s “chip in a dollar.” Next year it’ll be about 18 of the losing candidates renting your email address to others.
Email isn’t dead as a political engagement platform yet, but we sure are doing everything we can to kill it, aren’t we?
We donated a small amount to every campaign for president, Republican and Democrat, to see what kind of emails they would send us.
And then this happened.
Wow, a subject line of "(no subject)" from the Biden campaign. Would love to see the A/B test results and the eventual open rate on this one. Very cool.
Note the staffer cranking out as many photos as they can — that’s how you get the good stuff
Lizzie Warren’s selfie factory remains one of the smartest features of 2020 so far
So important. Conservatives have created an entire ecosystem of content platforms they use to propagandize voters.
Too many Democrats are still hoping for that Sunday Show invite as if that’ll be enough counteract it.
There's been a lot of focus on how the Trump campaign is leveraging Facebook ahead of 2020, but it's also aided by a web of conservative media platforms that have spent big 💸 to boost his message online. We look into it in this week's #FWIW https://t.co/XRpwX6vQkZ
Voters have evolved. Democratic campaigns and causes need to evolve, too. Stop assuming we can force voters to consume our persuasion on our terms. Hire staff and consultants capable of building a true ecosystem of content that engages voters on THEIR own terms.

Some thoughts on this...
Corporations tend to look at politics as a testing ground for digital strategy, but once proven there, too, corporations usually double and triple-down on a tactic.
Political orgs should see this as a sign to do the same with content.

Because it's never been harder for companies to reach distracted consumers, more and more firms are hiring editors and content creators to build everything from podcasts to news websites to print magazines to grab your interest. https://t.co/2j66QS8Tky
When hiring comms directors, political orgs need to stop being distracted by rolodexes of reporters and instead look for digital-first communicators better versed in editorial direction and content creation.
