@CoachGroce@coachkou I will not be running an offense specifically to please the DC. I don’t expect the DC to run the defenses that teams on our schedule run to please me. I can’t imagine that I’m alone with this.
@CoachGroce@coachkou Right, they run it because of lack of talent; that’s the point. It allows them to be able to compete with schools that have way more talent. But, imagine a world where they had, say, SEC/Big 10/etc. talent AND they ran the offense. That is all I’m saying.
@CoachGroce@coachkou A common, but odd, viewpoint when you consider the service academies’ ability to contend with massive size and skill disparities with every opponent they play. If they did what everyone else does, they’d be 0-fer most years. Imagine that offense with top level talent. Yikes.
@derek_tiller@coachkou Option football is alive and well on Saturdays and Sundays. What isn’t alive and well is the average football fan’s understanding of what option football is in all its forms.
@MissouriScoop@CoachTucker11 Maybe, and the NFL Illegal contact rule (5 yards). It gives officials a true visible guideline for defensive contact on a receiver instead of letting them get waylaid all over the field (which is generally allowed). The NFHS rule is too subjective for high school officials.
@themamamort@JohnHough__ What real changes do you think this oversight committee would bring? I'm not convinced that anything would change...except another bureaucratic step added to every process.
@Double_J_STL@brettbarbarick@MSHSAAOrg Go to https://t.co/AF55lTBN8m . Navigate the site. Most, if not all, of the answers you seek are contained therein, from board meeting minutes, to election results, to rules meetings, etc.
@MissouriScoop@RdTrpsRtsRoyals Metaphorical trophies aren't real; therefore, the "no participation trophies" crowd still gets what it wants.
I'm against any system that has a condition other than winning on the field of play as a qualification for advancing.
