Soon, scooter companies will create geofencing around these designated parking areas, requiring users to end their rides inside the marked areas.
This effort will de-clutter our streets and reduce hazards. Be on the lookout for these areas across Mass Ave!
@laurenkaydenver@JesseForIndy I wasn't giving you advice. I was commenting on a public comment. I also was not addressing your assault, only what happened in the chamber. But take it as you will and best to you.
@jstewartIndy Good article but it leaves out one point. Data centers are increasingly using recycled water, including waste water meaning a city can reduce its water purification costs. Also, newer ones are taking in a lot of water up front but have internal systems that reuse that water.
I think the bigger question is why do only alumni get to vote on trustees of a taxpayer funded institution.
Doesn't that disenfranchise demographics that cannot afford to send their kids there? Isn't this systemic racism?
Mike Braun put a last-minute provision in the state budget last year to give him the sole ability to appoint IU Trustees.
Alumni had elected trustees for over 100 years, and they deserve to have that right restored.

Lauren I'm also a victim of sexual assault by an (male) employer so I know how crappy what happened to you was.
I also know a lot about law enforcement. The videos shows you being warned to keep to the time & very little that would be considered excessive force. Just saying you need physical evidence to prove that claim is all.
Do what you think is right but it does not look like a winning claim in court. The sheriff will not personally pay for any of this so it makes sense for the county to settle for that minor amount.
@laurenkaydenver@JesseForIndy The most likely scenario here is a no fault settlement and voters won't care. $50k isn't worth the time or legal fees to fight it in court. Even an at fault judgement, which is unlikely, won't change public perception unless you can show excessive physical bodily damage.
@EmmonsNick24458@theamelia__ Yes, it does get super annoying that cashiers now ask for tips vs servers. The cashiers in my office cafeteria are making at least $10/hr and they have very low customer touch roles but the POS still asks for tips.
@BBrownIndy@SteveHinnefeld People always forget that the pure democracy part of elected officials means that they technically have a higher threshold of accountability, meaning that change is more costly, & error or corruption are harder to fix.
There are always trade-offs.
@arioatz @JesseForIndy It wasn’t a common interaction. It was discussing a policy issue and my intention to sue the city over it.
People sign NDA’s all the time in those situations.
This is untrue.
I asked to meet with the councilman and only asked that he agree in writing that my statements during would not be construed as reflective of my employer's opinions so that I did not violate State ethics laws.
He denied the conversation.
I have proof.
@Steve_Stuck I meet with anyone and everyone who wants to talk politics every single month, before and after the Council meeting.
No other Councilor does that.
I walked away from exactly one person, who filmed me without my consent after harassing me with over 2,000 messages on Twitter.
@ghost_ellis@JesseForIndy It was not a "normal" conversation. it was regarding a policy matter that could result in litigation.
Pls read state ethics laws for employees & note the part of the conversation where I always just want to cover my basis anon.
Please post it @JesseForIndy.
The exchange was that I work for the state & wanted to protect myself from any preceived ethical violations i.e. having it interpreted that I was speaking on behalf of the agency I work for.
@r3evans I almost just posted the text messages from that exchange - but given that you explain some difficulties with your job, that seems cruel. Amazing that you'd claim to have proof though!
@ghost_ellis@JesseForIndy And to be clear, the agency never asked for it. I asked for it as a precautionary unless questions came up w them or any other agency I may work for.
That’s stated in the text.
So again, what was the harm?
@JesseForIndy Exactly,
I asked for a reasonable NDA. My employer knows I am politically active & the state requires a clear line between political & professional activities.
The convo even had a mediator.
What the harm unless you planned on publicizing the conversation?
@JesseForIndy You know where I work & my reasons were clearly articulated. I would never give an enemy of my boss ammo.
What exactly would you lose by signing a nondiscloure unless you wanted to reveal something?
