Today you all are a witness to this. Had I not been the CM nobody would have allowed to use bombs against Kukis.
When Amit Shah (Union Home Minister) came to Manipur he said:
Amit Shah: โey, Biren Jiโ,
Biren: โhaan Sirโ,
Amit Shah: โarey tum bomb marta haiโ?
(after which there was a gap of the usage of bombs)
Amit Shah: โbomb use mat karna haiโ
Biren: I called the DG after he (Amit Shah) left and told him(DG)
โoye, chupke se karna, open se nahi karna haiโ.

Manipur : Three Kuki students Sehminhao Chongloi, Hengunsei Khongsai and Tonggoulen Chongloi are still held hostage among 14 Kuki men abducted from police custody by SDSA & NSCN-IM.
All three students are sole breadwinners for their families.
Hengunsei is currently battling muscular dystrophy and was also recently orphaned by his father , he alone carries the burden of providing for his grieving family while his own health deteriorates in captivity.
Their unlawful detention since 13 May 2026 is a brutal assault on their safety, health, and right to education. Authorities must act without delay, ensure their safe release immediately and jail the perpetrators.

Fresh concern has emerged over the fate of 11 Kuki individuals reported missing after being taken hostage, following a disturbing social media post allegedly shared by a user identified as โAjoy Rephung,โ who described himself as a โKaccha Naga individual.โ
In the post, Ajoy Rephung claimed that the 11 hostages, whom he referred to as โBurmese refugee,โ were โalready dead and their bodies are decomposed.โ The post further carried a chilling warning: โthis time you will learn an unforgettable lesson in life.โ
These claims remain unverified and no official authority has confirmed the whereabouts or condition of the missing individuals. Yet such statements have intensified fear, anxiety and outrage among the families and community members still waiting for answers.
The continued uncertainty surrounding the 11 missing Kuki individuals demands immediate attention, an independent investigation and urgent action from the concerned authorities. Every effort must be made to establish the truth, ensure accountability and protect innocent civilians from further harm.
Silence cannot replace justice and unanswered disappearances cannot be ignored.

Immediate intervention and justice are needed.

KNF Denies Role in Naga Civiliansโ Disappearance, Slams AI Misinformation
The Kuki National Front (KNF) issued a press release on 17th May 2026 denying any involvement in the alleged missing of six Naga civilians on 13th May 2026. The group called an AI-generated poster circulating on social media "baseless, malicious, and devoid of factual foundation," saying it falsely implicates KNF and Chairman ST. Thangboi Kipgen. KNF condemned the spread of unverified propaganda aimed at creating communal tension and appealed to the public not to be misled by fabricated narratives. The group reaffirmed its commitment to peace, dialogue, and lawful means, while warning of legal action against those spreading defamatory misinformation.

The alleged abduction of 14 people in Manipurโs Senapati district has drawn attention after Young Pillars College Principal and MD Samuel Haokip stated that a 16-year-old student, Hengunsei Khongsai, is among those detained.
Haokip said Hengunsei had recently completed his Class 11 final exams, is a minor with a disability, and had lost both parents. He said the group had gone to earn daily wages and was on their way back to Taphou village when they were stopped near Mount Everest College in Senapati.
He alleged that members of the Senapati District Student Association (SDSA), along with police personnel present at the spot, were involved in the incident, and appealed for the release of all 14 individuals and an investigation into the matter.

๐จ Disabled student taken as hostage by Student Association in Manipur Crisis
Among the Kuki hostages abducted in Senapati is Hengunsei Khongsai, a physically-disabled orphaned minor suffering from Muscular Dystrophy and certified with 38% permanent disability. Despite his condition, crushing poverty forced him to work daily wage labour during school holidays to support his family.
While returning from work, he and other Kuki civilians were allegedly kidnapped near Mt. Everest College Gate by volunteers of the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) in broad daylight even while under police escort and protection.
Concerned Authorities must treat the release of Hengunsei Khongsai and the other 13 Kuki Hostages as priority of the highest order so as to de-escalate the presently tense situation in Manipur.

I commend the leaders of both the Kuki and Manipur Naga communities for the successful exchange of hostages on both sides. We remain hopeful that the leaders of both communities will continue to work together to restore peace and tranquility in the beautiful hill districts where both communities have coexisted since time immemorial.
Honโble MP and National Chairman The All India Congress Committee Minority Department Shri Imran Pratapgarhi strongly condemns the brutal and cowardly ambush in Kangpokpi district of Manipur in which three respected Church leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association (TBA) tragically lost their lives.
We express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, the Christian community and the people of Manipur during this painful and tragic moment.
The deceased Church leaders โRev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, President, TBA IndiaRev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, Finance Secretary, TBAPastor Paogoulen Sitlhou, Superintendent Pastor, TBA โwere dedicated servants of faith, peace and humanity. Their loss is not only a loss to the Christian community but to the entire nation.
Targeting religious and minority leaders through violence is an attack on the very foundations of democracy, secularism and communal harmony. Such repeated incidents in Manipur expose the complete failure of the BJP Government to restore peace, security and confidence among minority communities in the state.

TKS recently issued a statement condemning the protests organized by KSO Delhi & NCR, describing them as โdefamatoryโ and โprovocative.โ However, several important concerns and unanswered questions still remain.
1. ZUF itself publicly alleged that NSCN-IM-linked operatives were involved in the attack under the name โZUF-K.โ
2. There has been no verified investigation or official conclusion identifying who burned the three villages.
3. There is still no publicly established clarity regarding how the two Tangkhul individuals were killed or abducted.
Yet despite the absence of verified findings, narratives and protests across different places are increasingly resulting in the broader Kuki community being collectively portrayed through labels such as โproxy,โ โviolent,โ or โdangerous.โ
This is where many see hypocrisy.
When allegations emerge against the Kuki community, assumptions and collective narratives spread rapidly even without verified evidence. But when Kuki-Zo organizations raise concerns, demand accountability, or question inconsistencies, their voices are quickly dismissed as โprovocativeโ or โdefamatory.โ
At a time when civilians across communities have suffered violence, displacement, fear, and loss, there should be equal standards, equal empathy, and equal scrutiny for everyone.
If the objective is truly peace, justice, and communal harmony, then important questions remain:
โข Why is there no stronger call for impartial investigation into who burned the villages?
โข Why are all publicly named actors not equally investigated?
โข Why is the suffering and displacement of Kuki-Zo civilians often overlooked?
โข Why are peaceful demands for accountability treated differently depending on which community raises them?
It must also be noted that ZUF itself publicly named NSCN-IM-linked operatives in its statement. In addition, videos circulating online allegedly show Meitei militants and Tangkhul NSCN-IM cadres together prior to the attacks. These claims and materials should be properly and impartially investigated instead of being ignored or selectively dismissed.
Justice cannot be selective.

Manipur continues to suffer under the failure of governance, where law and order have collapsed and innocent lives are left vulnerable.
The families of Thangtinlen, Thangminlen, Sehginlun, Paogouthang, Thanglenmang, Luntinlal, Hengunsei, Sehminhao, Haominlun, Lamgoulen, Paotinkai, Lunsei, Kaimang and Tonggoulen deserve answers, accountability and above all, the safe and immediate return of their loved ones.
No family should have to live in fear, uncertainty and silence while waiting for news about those who have been taken away from them.
We call upon the Government of India and concerned authorities to act urgently and decisively to ensure their safety and secure their release. Those responsible for this abduction must be identified and held accountable under the law. Justice, peace and human dignity must prevail over violence and intimidation.
This is not just about a list of names but these are sons, brothers, family members and members of a community whose lives matter.
Their families deserve transparency, protection and reassurance that every possible effort is being made to bring them home safely.

Saloni Tony President of SDSA(Senapati District Students Association) under his leadership 17 Taphou Kuki villagers were abducted and there where about were still mystery are they killed or still hostage?? Where is the law enforcing agencies in Manipur???
The alleged abduction of innocent Kuki civilians is a grave matter that cannot be ignored. Reports pointing towards the involvement of Saloni Tony must be taken seriously and investigated without delay. If he is innocent, a fair investigation will reveal the truth. But if found guilty, immediate arrest and strict legal action must follow.
From the reported intimidation of Kuki women in Hengbung Kuki Village to the alleged role in the illegal abduction of Kuki civilians in Senapati, the growing pattern of fear and violence has deeply disturbed the people. Such acts threaten peace, justice and the safety of innocent civilians.
We urge @manipur_police and @NIA_India to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into these serious allegations and ensure that everyone responsible is held accountable. Justice delayed is justice denied.
