In this new #BSSA paper, scientists from @UCRiverside used data from southern Hispaniola to track tiny quakes of earthquake swarms to trace several faults. Higher resolution pictures of faults will help improve seismic hazard assessments.

My latest story for Temblor is about the faults we don't know about until they rupture. As always, the best part of writing this was speaking with the researchers - many thanks to @JuliusJJ_geo and @R_Douilly for discussing their very important work with me!
🚨 New Paper Alert!! 🚨 In this paper, we used aftershock relocation from temporary seismic station deployment to delineate the fault segments that participated in the 2021 Nippes, Haiti earthquake.
