Excited to share that I've made my first publication! This would not have been possible without the support & editing skills of my supervisor @FernBrunger, or @BioethicsCanada for organizing the writing competition that allowed me to submit my work to the CJB for consideration.
After some frustrating writer's block, I managed to get out 997 words in one sitting today. I'll count that as a victory. Now, will I manage a similar feat again in the near future? That's the real question, stay tuned.
Excited to be presenting on my thesis research to date this afternoon! Grateful that @MUNBioethics elects to make National Health Ethics week an opportunity to showcase student scholarship.
UPCOMING EVENT: Save the date(s)!

So proud of my partner, with her resilience and tenacity, for absolutely crushing it already in her first week as a clerk. We always take our #selfcare very seriously!
Had a lil’ morning nap, 2 egg McMuffin combos, watched 2 episodes of Gilmore Girls, chatted with my mom, bought a new book, had my first PSL of the season, then had the most beautiful evening walk. Not a bad post-call day ☺️
I would like to shout out my university's library staff, who are always nothing but courteous, encouraging and unendingly helpful, no matter what my request is. Thank you for all you do! @MUNHSL
Here is a first version of Resources for Non-Black People to Support the Black Communities of Canada.

In the interest of time, I wanted to make the document live sooner rather than later, but I am continuing to take recommendations for resources!
I would like to help address the pervasive idea that Canada is somehow 'better' than other countries when it comes to anti-black racism. Any recommendations are welcome, and where reading/film materials are concerned, if you know of free links/downloads that is much appreciated!
Twitter friends, I'm trying to collect resources on addressing anti-black racism (with the hopes of posting them in a public google doc), and I would like to find books, films, organizations/groups, articles, etc. that tackle this from a Canadian perspective. Have ideas?
@FrancoiseBaylis I can't speak for the booth but our server's interest was piqued & he had lots of questions for us about our reading material. We even segued into a different vein & chatted about some of the ethical implications around robotics/AI - opportunities for engagement are everywhere!
The end of term meeting of the Bioethics Bookclub! Tonight we discussed the recent work @FrancoiseBaylis, Altered Inheritance. We hope the folks in the booth next to us did not mind our lengthy & animated conversations about ethics and CRISPR technology!
Honestly, its for the best that I ended up pursuing ethics because number one was a special effects technician. Don't think my argumentative streak and lack of artistic flair would have flourished there.
I just found a 'career cruising' assignment I did in Grade 11 where we had to list potential jobs we could see ourselves pursuing. Listed at number two? Bioethicist! I have literally *no* memory of ever considering this.
