Six months ago, the Islamic Republic unleashed the bloodiest massacres in modern Iranian history.

Thousands were killed in just days. Thousands more were imprisoned, disappeared, or forever changed. Yet the regime couldn’t kill what mattered most: the Iranian people’s demand for freedom. 🕊️

We remember Hamid Mahdavi—the firefighter who spent his final moments carrying wounded protesters to safety before he was shot and killed. We remember Sina Haghshenass, whose future was stolen. We remember Ali Mirzaei, Elina Hojjati, Mohsen Abbasi, Ali Shirafkan, Zahra Najafi, Mansour Bagheri, Sepehr Mousavi, Milad Ebrahimi, and the countless others whose names deserve to be spoken.

These were not statistics.
They were students.
Teachers.
Athletes.
Doctors.
Firefighters.
Artists.
Parents.
Children.

For six months, families have visited graves instead of homes. Survivors have searched prisons instead of hospitals. Mothers still wait for answers that may never come.

We remember every face.
We remember every name.
We remember every stolen future.

Their voices live on through us.

اما ملتی که به یاد دارد، حتی اگر امروز شکلی از شکست و توقف را تجربه کند، فردا دوباره توان سازماندهی، اعتمادسازی و اقدام پیدا می‌کند. حافظه فقط یادآوری گذشته نیست؛ کلیدی‌ترین سرمایه‌ برای ساخت و عدم تکرار است! اگر روایت ایستادگی و یادسپاری زنده بماند، هیچ سرکوبی نمی‌تواند نقطه آغاز را از یک ملت بگیرد.

💻 Every dystopian story begins the same way.

A teenager is told that asking questions is dangerous. A government rewrites reality. A confession matters more than the truth.

Except this isn’t Black Mirror. It isn’t The Hunger Games. It isn’t 1984.

It’s Iran.

Amir-Saam is only 19 years old; a software engineering student whose future should have been filled with code, exams, late-night debugging sessions, and impossible dreams.

Instead, after being arrested during the January protests on Iran Zamin Street in western Tehran, he was struck in the back of the head, forced into a confession, and sentenced to six years in prison for allegedly “destroying public property.”

Six years.

For a teenager.

For a student.

For a future the regime decided to overwrite.

Authoritarian regimes fear many things, but perhaps nothing more than young people who know how to think. Every imprisoned student is another reminder that dictatorships don’t just censor books; they try to erase the people who would have written the next chapter.

📢 Amir-Saam deserves a classroom, not a prison cell. A laptop, not handcuffs. A future, not a forced confession.

Don’t let his name disappear.

Do you know of any dissidents, former political prisoners or family of the slain INSIDE Iran who publicly supported the national team this World Cup?

I couldn’t find any.

Trevor consider there is nuance here you are not aware of. From the outside this might seem like an innocent bunch of footballers. Consider they are not. The situation in Iran is not a normal situation. This is a country were tens of thousands of people were massacred in cold blood. This groups of footballers have chosen to take the side of the murderous regime. Not equivalent to footballers from Canada or US.

⚽️ Our real Team Melli never walked onto a World Cup pitch.

🕊️ They were the generation the Islamic Republic feared most—the students, athletes, artists, women, and young dreamers who dared to demand freedom. Many were killed. Thousands were arrested. January became the month our true national team was hunted.

💔 Parastoo Jamalzadeh, 33, is one of them.

✊ After joining the January 2026 protests and standing with the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, she was violently arrested by IRGC Intelligence while returning home. The brutality of that arrest left her suffering repeated panic attacks and in need of continuous medical care.

🚨 Today, despite her deteriorating health, she has been sent back to Arak Prison to serve a one-year sentence simply for refusing to stay silent. She has also been banned from leaving the country, barred from public service and civic activity, and had her phone confiscated.

🥀 This is how the Islamic Republic wages war against an entire generation.

These are our Team Melli—not those who represented a football federation at the World Cup, but the young Iranians imprisoned, tortured, and killed for believing their homeland deserves freedom.

📢 Be Parastoo’s voice. Don’t let the world forget the generation the regime is trying to erase.

در سال ۱۹۹۲ یوگسلاوی‌‌ را به خاطر تحریمهای سازمان ملل که مربوط به جنگ‌ داخلی آن‌کشور بود از شرکت در جام ملتهای اروپا محروم کردند. در سال ۲۰۲۲ روسیه را به خاطر تجاوز به اوکراین از شرکت در رقابتهای جام جهانی محروم کردند. امسال هم جامعهٔ بین‌المللی می‌توانست جمهوری اسلامی را به خاطر کشتار دی‌ماه از جام جهانی محروم کند، اما این کار را نکرد، که مهمترین دلیلش شاید این باشد که ایران در اروپا نیست. سوال این است که وقتی دنیا نسبت به کشتاری که در ایران صورت میگیرد حساس نیست خود ما مردم ایران نباید حساس باشیم؟ خود ما نباید نشان دهیم که وضعیت کشورمان عادی نیست؟

On January 8, he called his mom: "Save my gym meal." Hours later, he was shot in the head and bled to death.

We’ll never forget Saleh Mohammadi, a 19 year-old wrestling champion, who was executed shortly after the January protests in Iran. He was a successful athlete with a bright future. His crime? He demanded freedom, he joined the protests, and got arrested and executed by the Islamic Republic.
