Four Pakistani spaza shop owners shot dead in Kempton Park

Four Pakistani nationals who owned spaza shops in Tembisa were shot and killed in an apparent ambush in Kempton Park on Saturday evening.

The victims were reportedly travelling home after closing their businesses when unknown gunmen opened fire on their vehicle at the corner of Zuurfontein and Orangerivier roads in Chloorkop. All four men died at the scene.

Police have opened a murder investigation and are working to determine the motive behind the attack. No arrests have been made, and authorities have appealed to anyone with information to assist the investigation.

The killings come amid ongoing tensions surrounding foreign-owned spaza shops. Police have urged communities not to take the law into their own hands.
