It was a .5 cent sales tax passed by a supermajority of the commission in 1991.

It was for indigent and low income residents.

Lots of illegals on it nowadays and homeless come there just for it.

@WallStreetApes Here is the reality on the ground in Tampa. I have a full time job and a business I put about 40-50 hours a week into. I mow lawns, trim trees, haul trash, if it pays money I do it. I am slammed and turn down work. Main job, we cant get enough applicants and start 60k.

@GBNT1952 @kris4tea I have encountered a number of fellow veterans who were homeless in my years as a cop and FF/Medic. MANY got VA disability (usually hospital social workers help them start the process) and instead of using it for housing they CHOOSE to use it for drugs and alcohol.....

@AlpacaAurelius On the whole co2 thing, one of the most overlooked things even for day to day. Get an air monitor (you can even rotate among family/friends houses) and you might be surprised. Mine and 3 others that we checked, by 11pm were way above normal levels. Lethargy type levels.

@VladTheInflator Diesel prices are what will really crush everything. Trucking, construction, etc will get hurt bad. In central Florida today it was $5.69 for diesel, going to really put a hurting on smaller companies soon.
