My first PhD paper out now in @RSocPublishing ! Our meta-analysis shows that the impact of urbanization on avian health depends on the health metric, life stage and level of urbanization. Thanks to everyone who was involved in this study.

In just ONE DAY our talented volunteers made it to 1557 observations! Drawing 1557 iguanas might be a bit much, so here's just one to say THANK YOU to those who've helped us so far and encourage even more to join in over at: 🦎🏝️🦎https://t.co/nlW5J39gLJ🦎🏝️🦎
Glad to have this neat little pre-print out with a bunch of great folks! @NickGreen_chem@Evie_Jensen

After struggling so much to get good sequenceable DNA from seaweeds - we did some digging and found some cool results!
🎉Congratulations to early career researcher Rachel Gray from @SciencesNCL who has won an Engagement & Place Award for her work, which is helping to restore the Galapagos tortoise population on Floreana Island! Well done Rachel!🐢https://t.co/WNVm1iOYa3
I had fun preparing my #ArtOfScience entry for #SNESFest2024
A 1000 piece puzzle representing piecing together the upgraded Galapagos tortoise genome by using the Aldabra tortoise genome as the “image on the box”! Preprint coming soon 😉
Thanks to Eric for the illustrations
Congratulations to early career researcher Rachel Gray for this amazing project which is helping to restore the Galapagos tortoise population on Floreana Island! Well done Rachel! 🐢🤩

Our project was presented successfully at this great conference! Drones and citizen science for marine iguanas✨🦎 Student Conference on Conservation Science #SCCS24
Really appreciate that @Aisling_Irwin wrote this great piece about how #museomics can help conservation! Featuring a diversity of cases (not just tortoises!)

Come do a super cool PhD on trophic interactions, metagenomics and ecoacoustics with me in @ForagingEcology and @Kitson_James @DarrenMarkEvans @CollinsLarissa and @abr_eco!🕸️🧬🔊
Applications due by 7th February! 🥳🕷️🪲
🐢🌿 Exciting news! We conducted morphometric measurements on tortoises with original Floreana genes (Chelonoidis niger). Extinct for over 150 years, they were found on Wolf Volcano. In January 2024, we'll reintroduce them to Floreana Island, in joint efforts with the GNPD!
