Lateness is disrespectful, yes, but more generally the quality I truly abhor that is endemic to my generation is flakiness. My attitude about this makes me feel like an ancient crone but I think it's incredibly rude to bail on plans with little notice! Sorry!
A person that becomes a trillionaire should be shamed and ostracized for hoarding massive amounts of wealth. That kind of behavior isn’t admirable but rather greedy and sociopathic.
I really don’t understand true greed. If I was worth $1 trillion, you’d have to physically stop me from solving as many of the world’s problems as possible.
Everyone would have a home, food on the table, proper healthcare, happiness.
I just don’t get it.
when you’re driving your kids around, don’t play kiddie music. play your music. you’ll hear enough cartoon soundtracks at home anyway. the car is where you introduce them to the time stevie nicks wrote “silver springs” about her ex and then made him stand there and play it while she sang it to him on stage.
the real new year isn't on january 1st. it's actually today, March 20th, on the spring Equinox. Ancient Rome changed it to January to account for taxes. but when they did this all other months fell out of alignment. October from Oct should really be the 8th month and December from Dec the 10th.
because of this we're no longer in tune with the proper solar cycle and that's why the end of the year feels rushed. it's also way more powerful to set New Years resolutions in Spring as everything is blooming. nobody wants to start a new habit when they're freezing their ass off. so Happy New Year. today's your day to start fresh.
everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager
> drive your friends to the airport
> go to their party even when you're tired
> stop cancelling last minute
> host at your place
> support the wins & losses
it's worth every ounce of effort
This time between December 15 and January 2 is such a drag because why are we even working? We should collectively shut down the world for 3 weeks to read books with tea or wine next to a fireplace.
my most boomer take is that being endlessly gentle with yourself all the time and never forcing yourself to do anything you don’t want to do isn’t self care it’s lazy and it’s bad for you
