I’m hearing folks say liquor privatization won’t matter because businesses pay taxes on sales.

Unfortunately that’s not true. LCBO generates revenue-not just tax proceeds-that make up that $2.5B. Loblaws isn’t going to hand over their profit to fund healthcare and education.
