More work. Less pay. More targets. Less recognition.

Dear Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji,
Jai Shri Ram.

Public sector bank officers have become India's most versatile workforce.

We mobilise deposits.
We sanction credit.
We recover NPAs.
We implement Government schemes.
We drive Digital India.
We deliver financial inclusion.
And now, we aggressively sell insurance—even on Saturdays.

Yet, when pay revisions arrive, the message seems equally clear:

More responsibility. Smaller reward.

Starting Basic Pay

Bank PO
₹36,000 → ₹48,480 (34.67% increase)

LIC AAO
₹53,600 → ₹88,635 (65.36% increase)

Bank productivity has increased.

Business per branch has increased.

Business per employee has increased.

Staff strength has reduced.

Workload has multiplied.

Has compensation kept pace? Clearly not.

No one questions what LIC officers receive. They deserve fair compensation.

The question is:

Why are public sector bankers expected to do more every year while settling for proportionately less?

Public sector banking has perfected a remarkable formula:

Private sector pressure.
Government sector pay.
Insurance sales on weekends.
Recognition through speeches.

The nation's financial backbone deserves more than appreciation—it deserves fairness.

This is not merely a pay issue.

It is an issue of respect, equity and sustainability.

More work should never mean less value.
Equal responsibility deserves equitable compensation.

It is time for the Government, DFS, IBA, bank managements and representative unions to correct this growing imbalance before commitment gives way to frustration.

Respect the work. Respect the workforce.

தமிழ்நாட்டில், மத்தியிலே பாஜக ஆட்சியில் இருப்பதையே பெரும்பாலான கட்சிகள் அவர்களை எதிர்மறையாக காட்ட பயன்படுத்தி வ���ுகின்றன. திமுகவின் முக்கிய அரசியல் ஆயுதமே “மோடியை தாக்குவது” ஆகிவிட்டது.

எடப்பாடி திமுக (அதுதான் சரியான பெயர்) கூட, காங்கிரஸ் அவர்களிடம் சேர்ந்திருந்தால் இதையே செய்திருக்கும். தமிழில் இதை “பூச்சாண்டி காட்டுதல்” என்பார்கள்.
என் பாட்டி குழந்தை வயதில், “குளத்துக்கு பக்கத்துல இருக்கிற மரத்துல பூதம் இருக்கு, அருகே போனா பிடிச்சுக்கும்” என்று சொல்லி என்னை குளத்தில் இறங்காமல் தடுத்தது போல! இங்கே மோடியே அவர்களுடைய விருப்பமான “பூச்சாண்டி”.

அதனால், யாராவது “தமிழ்நாட்டில் பாஜக வரக்கூடாது” என்று பேசினால், அதன் உண்மையான அர்த்தம் “எங்களுடைய இரு கட்சி அரசியல் ஆதிக்கத்திற்கு போட்டி வரக்கூடாது” என்பதுதான்; அது எந்த உயர்ந்த கொள்கையையும் பற்றியது அல்ல. பாஜக ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம் மற்றும் புதுச��சேரியில் கூட்டணியில் இருந்தும் அந்த மாநிலங்கள் நன்றாகவே செயல்பட்டு முன்னேற்றம் அடைந்து வருகின்றன. ஆனால் தமிழ்நாடு மட்டும் வேறுபட்டது என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
அந்த “வேறுபாடு” என்னவென்றால், தமிழ்நாட்டில் பாஜக வளரக்கூடாது என்று வெளிப்படையாகவோ மறைமுகமாகவோ நினைக்கும் இதே கட்சிகளோடு (அதிமுக அல்லது திமுக) பாஜக கூட்டணி வைத்ததே.
அப்படியானால் அடுத்த வழி என்ன? நீண்ட கால போராட்டத்தி��்கு தயாராக இருக்கும் இளம், உற்சாகமான, நல்ல தலைமை உருவாக வேண்டும். கட்சியை அடித்தளத்திலிருந்து கட்டியெழுப்புவதில் கவனம் செலுத்த வேண்டும். இந்த “பூச்சாண்டி” அரசியலை புறக்கணிக்க வேண்டும்.

“தமிழ்நாடு வேறுபட்டது” என்று சொல்வோருடன் கூட்டணி வைக்கக் கூடாது. தமிழ்நாடும் பாரதத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியே. அடிநிலையிலான பிரிவினை மனப்பான்மைக்கு எதிராக நாம் போராட வேண்டும்.

#அண்ணாமலை முன்னேற்றம் அடைந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். ஆனால் அவருக்கு ��ன்னும் அதிக நேரம் தேவைப்பட்டது. அவர் உண்மையான அரசியல் இயக்கத்தை உருவாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். இளைஞர்களை அரசியலில் ஈடுபட அழைத்தார். அவருக்கு மக்களிடையே பெரிய அளவிலான ஈர்ப்பும் இருந்தது.
நானும் இந்தப் பொறுப்பில் தன்னார்வமாக ஈடுபட்டிருப்பேன் (பூஜ்யத்திலிருந்து உருவாக்குவது எனக்கு பிடிக்கும்!).

ஆனால் தற்போது நான் தொழில்நுட்ப துறையில் முழுமையாக ஈடுபட்டு இருக்கிறேன். பாரதத்திற்கும் ஆழமான தொழில்நுட்ப முன்னேற்றம் தேவை. ஆகவே இந்த வாழ்க்கையில் அரசியலில் நேரடியாக ஈடுபட வாய்ப்பு இல்லை.
தெளிவாக சொல்ல வேண்டுமென்றால், என் அரசியல் கருத்துகளை (அது என் கருத்துரிமை) நான் பகிர்வேன்.

ஆனால் செயலில் அரசியலில் இருப்பதில்லை.
நம் கல்வியறிவு பெற்ற குடிமக்கள் அனைவரும் அரசியல் விவாதங்களில் ஈடுபட்டு தங்கள் கருத்துகளை வெளிப்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்று நம்புகிறேன். ஆனால் அதை மரியாதையுடனும் நாகரிகத்துடனும் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
