@CityofWichita The Chief mentioned that, in the case of shoplifting at least, the system’s limited ability to handle cases — not enough prosecutors and public defenders, etc. Can the panel provide more detail? How much is our ability to handle other crime limited by these related shortages?
@CityofWichita Can you discuss department strategy and priorities related to new technology? Policy work is clearly more and more dependent upon expensive tech that isn’t free: how do you make tough choices between technology and staffing or other priorities?
@CityofWichita You’ve discussed a bit how financial projections show budgets will impact the city and the WPD budget — can you discuss how projections of demographic shifts in the city will change policing needs in the city?
Join me, David, John, and Andrew B. this Saturday at 9am CDT for an interview and discussions of freelancing, AL adventures, and 2d20 systems!

What are your favorite 2d20 systems?
Over the past few weeks you, the community, have made your voices heard. And we’ve listened. OGL 1.0a will remain untouched AND the entire SRD 5.1 is now available under a Creative Commons license.🧵 https://t.co/hJTm2Rgruo
Thanks @DwarvenDM for joining me, @dmdavidblog, and @radiatinggnome for the roundtable this morning talking about DragonLance and all things gaming!

@dmdavidblog I like the Gumshoe-style approach, which looks a lot like passive perception, but with extra information based on the other skills the characters are proficient in. So often the plot needs the characters to have info, and not getting it is frustrating
@d20play@DMsWorkshop@JeremyECrawford It would be a house rule, not RAW, but at my table it would depend upon whether I felt like the ability was meant to be spell-like or a sort of inherent ability for the creature. Playing with Giffyglyph-made monsters I need to make this distinction a lot.
@dmdavidblog I use all kinds of solutions, but on the far end of affordable and flexible are the Disposable Heroes from Precis Intermedia Games https://t.co/nD2UhlQqgH Order some bases, buy the digital sets and print what you need. This is exceptionally useful for non-fantasy games.
Have been doing some work on continuing to make the online SDI the best it can be. There are some great resources from @WichitaState about online instruction design and delivery here --- https://t.co/MAa7mmLveE
@dmdavidblog IMO most builds that overpower one aspect of the game are only a problem in games that disproportionately favor that type of play. And high AC characters tend to be weak in other ways — a balance of challenges makes these builds less of a problem.
