Then why is DeSantis also behind in the polls in Florida? The same kind of polls that showed him behind in Iowa and proved to be closer to the truth than some wanted to admit. I'm not sure how changing his message "nationally" will change peoples views at this point.

Popularity based upon a false narrative of the "Free State of Florida" simply can't sustain.

This is because the "public" has been trained extensively to have no true understanding of what "Democracy" is, nor understand the basis of American government as established at it's founding. And they like to rail against "misinformation".

The entire line of "defense of Democracy in America" is based entirely upon disinformation pushed upon the younger generations of Americans who believe reality is what is fed to them via social/mass media.

Conservatism has no religious requirement, and I know more "Christian" liberals than any other type of liberal. If you're a Christian Conservative, whoopdeedoo, you have two separate belief structures identified in a singular statement.

Well for starters, Trump wasn't running in the midterms, so that's really an entirely moot point. Midterms are historically low in voter attendance, and though I wish that weren't the case, it does mean voter turn-out between the midterm and Presidential election cycle does not serve as a good comparative.

It doesn't matter what DeSantis has "built" in Iowa if the voters simply prefer Trump.

I will say however, I find it quite amusing how DeSantis supporters such as yourself constantly speak against believing polls and talk about how corrupt they are. And yet, the #1 justification provided for supporting DeSantis is that only he can win the general, and Trump can't. Oh, and the entire case for that point is built on polling data. Odd. . .

Step 2: DeSantis realizes he'll never be a viable candidate for President because Americans don't want him and retires from politics after finishing his term as Governor. America breaths a sigh of relief.

It is the primaries. Do a little research, general election of 2016 compared to primaries was generally a very different crowd size, as makes logical sense. He wasn't packing stadiums during the primaries and he has no reason to do so now. For the same reason crowd size shouldn't be used as an indicator against DeSantis either, it's the primaries. Check back on crowd size during the general when there is a single candidate, then we'll see how big Trumps crowds are. Or DeSantis. . .
