@RyanDeto Hey Ryan, i love your reporting but in this case you are woefully undereducated about the legality of annexation and merger. i think you need some deep background to do this reporting. i would love to talk to you about consolidation
“By year’s end, Adelphoi will have received $842,724 in county taxpayer money, before a single child is housed at the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar facility, which detains boys and girls prior to their court proceedings.”
@JayCostaPA I moved here for graduate school, ended up with a law degree and then stayed. I am from Florida. PAs universities are world-class and a great way to get young people to migrate and then stay!
Our state-related universities are a public asset for the generations of Pennsylvanians to come. We have an obligation to fund them, and I'm glad to see this completed.

It's news to us that the Senate Republicans care about wages now, as they have blocked any increase to the state's minimum wage for more than 15 years. https://t.co/yyY2c6tRf5
Devlin Robinson is set to get his 3rd pay raise since he was elected in 2020, yet he has fought any increase to the $7.25 minimum wage for workers. Unbelievable hypocrisy!

I don’t think y’all realize how much positive change can come to the Jail Oversight Board and the Allegheny County Jail now that Sara Innamorato is out new County Executive.
Congratulations @Innamo 💜
Rich Fitzgerald and judge Clark decided to give 73 million dollars to Adelphoi Village with absolutely no plan on how to run treatment besides making sure it’s “trauma informed”, which doesn’t mean a damn thing. It’s just a buzz word. They have nothing in place.
It’s the $73 million question: how was Allegheny County’s private detention contract issued?
One former official called it “the most crooked contract I have seen issued in over a decade.”

“They ignore the charter when it suits them.” Hallam said. “And when they get caught, they grasp at straws to fabricate a revisionist history in which they did nothing wrong.”
@richelord@iVernacular@NEXTpittsburgh If you live in the east suburbs this is a must read. I've spent years judging the Sampson's in my mind for what i consider their unlovely architecture. But to learn about their relationship with Mr Davis completely reordered my understanding of post -war real estate development
And @iVernacular, writing for @NEXTpittsburgh, chronicles a little-known chapter in the history of housing in Pgh. Charles E. Davis built homes for Black professionals when others would only sell to whites https://t.co/TuD4m3k4iZ
30% of votes were cast by mail in Allegheny County this fall. Which communities used VBM the most? Some of the answers could be a little surprising. Check it out: https://t.co/VJMguBgKOD
It's my understanding Allegheny County has finished reporting provisional ballots. So these races decided by 3 or fewer votes appear to be settled. Certification set for 11/27
