To my beautiful friends, peers, neighbours. I see you and I value you. Hate will not win. Fascism will fail, as it always does, when we stand united against it.
Nigel Farage was rehabilitated by ITV when it paid him £1.5m to appear on I’m A Celeb.
He is also joint-second for most appearances on BBC Question Time.
When I say the *entire* media class is complicit in the normalisation of Islamophobic & anti-migrant rhetoric, I mean it.
For those broadcasters calling the exit polls a disappointing result and comparing the figures to the 1997 election result. Please can we remember a) that the difference between 170 and 178 is 4 seats and b) That the lib dems only took 46 seats in 1997 and are predicted 61 today.
I vividly remember my mother, in her final days of life, staying up all night to watch the Tories get trounced in 1997. I'm not planning on this being my final election, but everything else stands.
Congratulations to ICAPSS team member @ambyr_reid for her article in the latest @uniofgalway EDI bulletin!

The characteristics of changemakers. The @designcouncil has studied change excellence in practice & identified the attributes of the most effective leaders of change across systems:
1) System thinker: has the ability to see how everything is interconnected in a bigger picture.
2) Leader and storyteller: can tell a great story about what’s possible and why this is important, engage people at all levels and see the work through.
3) Connector and convener: can build strong relationships, create spaces where people from different backgrounds come together and join the dots to create a bigger movement.
4) Designer and maker: has the technical and creative skills to make things happen.
