Ever thankful to @Minton15Chris and @LCFC_SportsTurf for looking after Ewan, old overalls are well and truly worn out, new ones are very welcome!! ๐๐ป
I was so inspired nearly 4 years ago when Chris Rae was teaching his son Ewan on how strip down a push mower, he has outgrown the overalls from back then so we sent him a new pair.

Recent holiday down under ๐ฆ๐บ with some fellow greenkeepers. Inspection of the new works at NSW GC, played Concord in Sydney and Tuncurry on the north coast and visited a few outback courses, Murrayville GC
@owenmbrowne Cheers Owen, yeah thereโs been a good lot of naturalisation to help improve the course. Youโre welcome here anytime, especially in the summer!!๐
Nice wee video of our course, highlighting some of the features weโve created over the past few years, and showcasing Orkney in general! โณ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ https://t.co/yfZGzRHKBh
Long shift the past few days getting greens aeration finalised before winter, weather not been on our side, but Volunteers and staff have been outstanding, along with my 9 yr old โณ๏ธ๐คฃ
Some great aerials of @orkneygfclub, a club run on a budget less than ยฃ100k annually, but run on some serious dedication by our greens team and committee!! ๐ช๐ปโณ๏ธ
Whatโs it like being a greenkeeper in Orkney in summer I hear you ask?? Sunburnt on a Thursdayโฆโฆ.wellies and survival suit on a Friday ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ช๏ธ๐๐ฆ๐ฅถ
Whilst most golfers have a love-hate relationship with rough on the golf course, you can't deny the benefits that it brings. It improves the aesthetics of the course by framing individual golf holes, whilst also providing the perfect environment for wildflowers @OrkneyGolfClub ๐ธ
@chrigar1@OrkneyGolfClub Hi Gary, thanks for the positive comments ๐ฅฐ
Yes the greens arenโt quite there yet, weโve dropped the height 1.5mm in the past 2 weeks plus lots of rolling, usually mid June before we hit a consistent pace ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Some lovely aerials of @OrkneyGolfClub taken this week. Canโt say I remember seeing the course looking so lush in May, grass growth is mental just nowโฆโฆ.dare I say dry spell??๐ซฃ๐พโณ๏ธ
