Renting a room in “digs” at £200 per week £1200

Total = £1559.6

So, if you are travelling into London to work, after agent’s fees, tax and then expenses, that £5,000 fee actually ends up leaving you £2,040

And that works out as

£27.95 per day or £195.77 per week

You could be directing at a major London theatre and taking home £27.95 a day.

So what should your fee be? Well, if you requested the very reasonable sum of £150 per day, you should be earning a fee of £10,950 for that same work.

Why don't we talk about pay when we discuss the future of theatre? If we want theatre to be inclusive, to reflect the world we live in, we will NEVER achieve it while the industry, on the most BASIC level, does not even cover minimum wage.

And of course designers, lighting designers, they're all going through this too. A brilliant young designer told me that, at a @_scene_change_ organised Q&A with an established designer, the career advice they were given was "get a rich husband"...

By the way, before tax, agent fees and accommodation, this is what the LOWEST fees on that list equate to:

£2490.33 = £34.11 per day
£1912.50 = £26.19 per day

Any recommendations for internet providers. We are leaving @TalkTalk they were brilliant for the first two years but been without internet for two weeks and they are stalling recognising that there is a problem.

@MikeThornton94 @TalkTalk Ours had been down for over a week and customer service has been really absent. Can’t get hold of anyone and when we finally convinced them that turning it on and off again wasn’t working they promised a router to arrive by Friday at the latest. Still waiting
