1. F-16 Block 50 (C/D) de la FACh
• Versión preferente: Interna AN/ALQ-254(V)1.
L3Harris indica textualmente: “It seamlessly fits into the Block 70/72 new aircraft, as well as the Block 40 and Block 50 F-16 fleets, including D-models, without requiring any redesign.” https://t.co/GpTKxsBClx
2. F-16 MLU (A/B Block 15/20) de la FACh
• Versión preferente: Pod externo AN/ALQ-254(V)2.
• Instalación: Se adjunta externamente sin requerir modificaciones internas extensas. El pod “fits on all F-16 blocks, from legacy to new” y “attaches to an aircraft without requiring extensive internal modifications.” https://t.co/GpTKxsBClx
Aspectos técnicos comunes a ambas versiones
• Arquitectura: All-digital, software-defined, open-system.
It’s one thing to see a Flanker parked on the ramp. Watching one launch like a rocket is a completely different experience. Those blue flames pouring out of the AL-31FPs, each producing around 27,600 lb of thrust in afterburner, is something else. The Flanker is a big machine, a huge machine, but when those engines light up, it moves, and moves like a nimble drifting Fishbed.
🇵🇪🇺🇸 BREAKING: Peru’s New F-16s Are Getting “Digital Armor”
Peru has selected L3Harris Technologies’ Viper Shield™ electronic warfare system for its new F-16 Block 70 fleet.
The upgrade will give Peru’s fighters an advanced electronic warfare layer designed to detect, identify and counter threats while strengthening both offensive and defensive operations.
This isn’t just another F-16 upgrade, it’s turning the electromagnetic spectrum into a battlefield.
@GuyPlopsky Thanks for the technical information provided, I was a little bit confused. Back it the days I watched a video from the PLAAF (SU-30MKK), apparently they used APK-9 to be able to radio command the missile and perform mid course corrections. It is clear now Kh-29T doesn't need it.
@GuyPlopsky Kh-29T/TE got LOBL features, but in SU-30MKK/MK2 an APK-9 Tekon Pod is mandatory to carry in order to provide a picture of the Tubus-2 EO Seeker. It is also needed to use Kh-59M/ME. Both missiles use the same seeker (EO).

In 2003, Intel told the Air Force it was shutting down the processor's production line.
So that December, the Air Force bought its last 820 chips.
