Kontroversi Lolosnya Qatar dan Saudi di Piala Dunia 2026:

✅Pembatalan status tempat netral secara sepihak. Pada awal proses kualifikasi, AFC memberi tahu negara2 peserta bahwa putaran 4 akan dimainkan di tempat netral

✅Secara tiba-tiba, AFC mengumumkan Qatar dan Arab Saudi sebagai tuan rumah untuk seluruh pertandingan di grup mereka masing2 tanpa adanya transparansi atau kriteria pemilihan tuan rumah yg benar2 jelas.

✅Hal ini membuat Qatar dan Arab Saudi diuntungkan karena bisa bermain di kandang sendiri. Sementara negara lain (Irak, UEA, Indonesia, dan Oman) harus main tandang.

✅Jadwal pertandingan yang tak adil dan adanya diskriminasi waktu istirahat. Arab Saudi dan Qatar ditempatkan sebagai unggulan teratas. Jadwal diatur sedemikian rupa sehingga kedua negara ini mendapatkan waktu istirahat selama 6 hari di antara pertandingan mereka.

✅Sebaliknya, tim lawan yakni Irak, UEA, Indonesia, dan Oman dipaksa bermain dgn jeda hanya 3 hari (72 jam). Para pelatih memprotes keras karena durasi ini sangat tidak cukup untuk pemulihan fisik pemain.

✅Polemik status top seeds. Terdapat ketidakselarasan alasan antara AFC dan FIFA mengenai mengapa Qatar dan Arab Saudi jadi unggulan teratas. AFC berdalih karena peringkat FIFA mereka yang tinggi. Sementara FIFA menyebut di situsnya karena mereka adalah negara host untuk menjaga agar tidak berada di satu grup.

✅Terjadi pemangkasan kuota tiket untuk suporter UEA saat melawan Qatar di Doha hanya menjadi 8%. Padahal di pertandingan sebelumnya di stadion yang sama mereka dpt jatah 33%. Hal ini memicu kerusuhan di tribun penonton setelah pertandingan.

✅Ada dominasi gurita politik negara teluk di AFC dan monopoli jabatan. Struktur kepemimpinan AFC didominasi oleh figur dari negara teluk (Presiden dari Bahrain, Wakil Presiden dan Ketua Komite Keuangan dari Arab Saudi, dan Ketua Komite Kompetisi dari Qatar).

✅Sebagian besar sokongan dana terbesar AFC disuplai oleh perusahaan raksasa asal Teluk (Aramco, NEOM, beIN, Qatar Airways, QatarEnergy).

Qatar dan Saudi, dua negara yang merusak fairplay dalam kualifikasi memang lolos. Tapi mereka akhirnya dibantai dgn skor2 telak di Piala Dunia 2026.
