Self-employed for decades and coauthoring a book about that journey. Don’t hold your breath for the book. It’s highly probable I’ll post about cruise ships too.
spending my evening (re)learning about self publishing a book. it's been three years in the writing but we are finally getting close. time to start figuring out the logistics that go along with this.
This is not why you hire a lawyer. You hire a lower to be dispassionate about something you are too passionate about. To ask them the question what should we do about this? What would you do in my place.
At least that is my take.
Find the fastest, easiest, cheapest way to walk away and get on with life.
You only get to pick two from the fastest, easiest and cheapest list by the way.
At least that is my take on working with attorneys in my own business.
I watched the owner of a company I worked for decades ago drop hundreds of thousands of dollars of dollars fighting a battling I told him we couldn’t win.
The litigators knew it. I knew it. The OC knew it.
We got legal fees and walked away from the claim.
Two years of my life I never get back.
Client: “Can we just offer them something to go away?”
Me: “Sure. I can try to negotiate a settlement if you have a number in mind.”
Client: “No! I’m not settling anything! They have no claim. I just want them to go away.”
Me:
@DietCoke_Esq@GsuGrinding Dude, it’s the 7th inning stretch! Get up, sing take me out to the ballgame at the top of your lungs. Smile, laugh. Get back in there and win the game, you’re only down by one run!
In a joking manner, @raffel blames Shelby for the early wake-up call this morning. But it was a group decision to help our client get a G7+ calibration done on a piece of machinery that needs to be back in production by mid-morning. So good early morning everyone!
This. This is how ya do it folks.
It’s wild because it’s a view of Basecamp 4 I was missing, but my thought was use like they shipped it. Adapt and move forward.
To whoever asked for the zoom view - thank you!
@raffel Came after. Got some feedback from folks on large screens, came up with this solution that preserves the default design and allows you to expand if you want more. This was not planned. We move forward, we don't look back.
@jasonfried True. At the same time you’ve proven over time you won’t release the half baked parts until they are fully baked. Or was this an idea that came after launch?
Depends on the airline.
On @AmericanAir group 2 still means something.
On @united if you end up at the end of group 2, about 1/2 the plane might have boarded before you. I’m thankful gold status which keeps me in group 1.
@DietCoke_Esq I am not a lawyer and I know what one is. Have these people never owned a piece of property? Mine has one huge easement on the front edge (road) and landscaping we do they have no obligation to repair/replace except for grass. Guess what we have there?
@DietCoke_Esq I paid 8 bucks for a cappuccino this morning. Thought it was outrageous until I realized I might save a life of two. Then it seemed cheap.
@emilyjobot I’m going to miss living 90 minutes from ORD where those are common.
I’ll have to drive a couple hours to MCO to get them once we move.
And drive I will!
