@levelsio Blanket statements regarding your father's 100% certainty that lipid treatment is meaningless could be causing harm to people in this thread and I highly doubt he would be cool with that out of the clinical context of the patient. I 2nd others re: Peter Attia as a great resource
@levelsio Re: cholesterol First, LDL is not the best measure. Non-HDL is better, but ApoB is best. Second, ApoB is only one measure and unless very high (>1.45g/L), depends on other risk factors. Is your Lp(a) high? Do you have high blood pressure? Early onset cardiac disease, etc.
Health AI requires standardized, secure, and frictionless data access. We are far behind in Canada without any federal regulation to enforce interoperability and stop information blocking.
Infoway is doing great work, can't happen soon enough: https://t.co/QC40YMG5vz

Health AI integration requires workflow & data access. @SMARTHealthIT experience: it takes products, pragmatics, open standards... and regulations.
Better alignment & precision on "jobs to be done" => (much) faster timeframes!

BC is taking action on the toxic drug crisis by being the first province to provide universal coverage for eligible medications used for the treatment of opioid-use disorder. Opioid agonist treatment (OAT) medications are now covered through MSP’s Plan Z

@raffrica @minhas_andy @DrErinCCFP@CMan_CCFP@DrKathleenRoss1 @DrJLush @JoshGreggain@BirinderNarang@DrRFernandez We need APIs and interoperability- we can’t expect any vendor to be all things for all people
Platforms that succeed create an ecosystem where entrepreneurs and existing players add value by building on top
Imagine the iPhone without the App Store
@minhas_andy @DrErinCCFP@CMan_CCFP@DrKathleenRoss1 @DrJLush @JoshGreggain@BirinderNarang@drdschwartzmd@DrRFernandez Interesting read, but overlooks how US is addressing its EMR fragmentation and interoperability challenges through strong policy with the ONC Curest Act. A robust Canada-wide policy is vital, one that mandates no information blocking (i.e. the "incomplete or.. corrupted" records)
@VPrasadMDMPH@KarstenJuhl Not a single study in the last 25 years despite advancements in radiology and breast cancer treatment. We need a refreshed version of this figure because this one is no longer relevant for this decade.
@bwertz I would encourage him to decide himself by asking ChatGPT. He could provide it with a list of his interests and your defined constraints above, then see what it suggests.
