According to reliable sources, the other side of the story that happened in Bhubaneshwar between an Indian Army officer, his fiancè and Odisha Police.

On the night of 14/15 September 2024, a serving Army officer and his fiancé were returning from her place of work in Bhubaneshwar, when they were waylaid by unknown miscreants in three cars who indulged in hooliganism, abuse and assault before fleeing the scene. The couple immediately decided to approach Bhubaneshwar Police Station to seek action to nab the miscreants as they had been able to note one of the car registration numbers.

However the lady police official and other police persons on duty refused to act and asked them to first register the complaint in writing. The couple insisted on speaking to higher officials which presumably angered the police personnel on duty and led to a heated argument with the police.

Fiancé of the officer (victim), was taken seperately by lady police into another room. She was allegedly stripped, molested & subjected to physical assault. The couple further alleged that one male police official then went into the room, threatened to molest the fiancé of the officer and used derogatory language on them.

Even the officer was manhandled by police and illegally detained in custody separately. The officer was detained for over ten hours without any reason and released only when this fact was flagged to a very high ranking police official by Army authorities.

The victim insisted upon going for a medical check up and eventually they were taken to SUM Hospital. The medical report has still not been handed over to the couple. The victim had bruises and abrasions on her face and other parts of her body.

Post medical examination, couple were taken to the Police Station where police officials demanded an apology from them.

However the couple has refused and decided to take a legal course of action against the ill treatment by police.

The complainants who had approached the police station to report hooliganism and unruly behaviour by miscreants, have been arrested, beaten, abused and held in captivity.

Stories of drugs being recovered from them have been planted.

Indian Army and Odisha Police should have joint investigation to ascertain the real truth.

@FlySpiceJet I wanted to fly from Jabalpur to Trichy. Booked a spicejet from jab to Hyd and Indigo frm Hyd to TPZ a week ago when the fares were reasonable.All of a sudden Spicejet canceld the flight leaving me with no option bt to cancel my tkt and book at a very high fare now
