This is to show the double standards of a writer(mostly for Kumutham)/ holdup artist called Shalin Maria Lawrence. Last year during Devar Jayanthi we posted a tweet condemning the behaviour of some common criminals for attacking a Ladies college, they even attacked a parent of a student in the process.

Shalin Maria Lawrence akka "quote tweeted" our tweet saying that we are equally criminal as those street thugs for using the word "punda" while describing their activity.

This "woke" behaviour from her was a bit upsetting to us at that time because a person like her who regularly (mostly pretends) talks about public issues, chose to overlook the issue in hand and started to focus on the words we were using.
I understand that usage of the unparliamentary word might be wrong technically speaking, this isn't our first rodeo, we have been using mild to moderate level unparliamentary words for a while now. But the act of comparing us with common thugs for using that word was loaded with some motive we didn't know about. But I understand the word is female based , it is wrong to use it as a general bad word per se. Seri lets keep our Utopian ambitions aside for a while for now.
Shalin Maria Lawrence who condemned us for using the word "punda" did something a few days ago. Athisha a well known writer/journalist voiced his opinion very respectfully without using any foul language in a tweet, she in her reply post , goes on to call his mother a whore by using the word "watha" which is a well known slur slang word in Tamil for "son of a whore" or "தேவிடியா பையன்".(refer pic 3) Everybody has the right to express anything and everything but the woman who called us out for using "punda" should have shut the fuck up and replied without the usage of unparliamentary words.
Criticism is a part of life especially for people in public life, what will happen if everyone uses the same words she used to criticize her, in public? Why can't she follow the simple rule of not being hypocritical while she pretends to call out hypocrisy everywhere else? Who gave the right to talk badly about his mother, while he has only criticised her? Next time she talks about us talking foul words , we'll definitely use a "punda mavale" unapologetically.
PS - we still haven't spoken about her mother while she chooses to do that freely.
