Subject: Request for Action Against Broadcasting of Obscene Abusive Language on Television News Channels

Respected Sir,
I, Tushar Damgude, respectfully submit this representation for your kind consideration.
The Government has framed various laws and regulations governing films, theatre productions, advertisements, television serials, and news channels, taking into account the age groups of viewers, public order, morality, and social responsibility. Compliance with these regulations is mandatory for every institution operating in these sectors.

To the best of my knowledge, television news channels are not categorized as "Adults Only" content. However, I have observed that several electronic news channels in Maharashtra are broadcasting obscene abusive language and vulgar gestures during live telecasts under the pretext of "live coverage."

According to the channels' own TRP claims, these broadcasts reach millions of households. Therefore, while films and theatrical productions containing abusive language are required by law to be classified and restricted to adult audiences, it appears inconsistent that similar or even more offensive content, capable of causing embarrassment and discomfort to children, women, and men and adversely affecting society, is being transmitted directly into homes through television news channels.

Such broadcasts seem to be in violation of the conditions and regulations under which these channels have been granted registration and permission to operate. I therefore humbly request that appropriate directions and warnings be issued to the concerned news channels and that necessary steps be taken to prevent such practices in the future.I shall be grateful for your kind attention to this matter.

माननीय महोदय, मी तुषार दामगुडे आपणांस निवेदन करतो की चित्रपट, नाट्य, जाहिरात, मालिका, वृत्तवाहिन्या यासाठी प्रेक्षकांच्या वयोगटाचा, समाजाच्या कायदा सुव्यवस्था व नितीमत्तेचा विचार करून त्यासंदर्भात काही कायदे बनवले गेले आहेत. त्याचे अनुपालन करणे या व्यवसायातील प्रत्येक संस्थेला बाध्य आहे.

माझ्या माहितीनुसार टीव्हीवरील वृत्तवाहिन्या हा प्रकार सरकार दरबारी 'फक्त प्रौढांसाठीच्या' वर्गात नोंद नाही. परंतु माझ्या असे निदर्शनास आले आहे की 'थेट प्रक्षेपण' या सबबीखाली महाराष्ट्रातील  इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वृत्तवाहिन्या अश्लील शिवीगाळ व मनास लज्जा उत्पन्न होईल अशा प्रकारचे अश्लील हावभाव थेट प्रक्षेपीत करत आहेत.  सदर वाहिन्यांच्याच टीआरपी दाव्यानुसार या वृत्तवाहिन्या कोट्यावधी कुटुंबात थेट प्रक्षेपित होत आहेत.

तरी माननीय महोदय,एकीकडे शिवीगाळ असलेल्या चित्रपट नाटकांना 'फक्त प्रौढांसाठीच्या" प्रवर्गात नोंद करण्याचा व प्रसारित करण्याचा कायदा असताना दुसरीकडे लहान बालक, स्त्रिया व पुरुष यांच्या मनास लज्जा उत्पन्न करणारा व समाज मनावर विपरीत परिणाम करणारी शिवीगाळ या वाहिन्यांच्या माध्यमातून थेट घराघरात पोहचू देणे विसंगत आहे.

तरी हे प्रकार चॅनेल रजिस्ट्रेशनसाठी मान्य केलेल्या सरकारी अटी व नियमांचा भंग करणारे असून आपण हे गैरप्रकार रोखण्यासाठी सदर वृत्तवाहिन्यांना समज द्यावी ही नम्र विनंती.
