Déjà vu: Indian airline promoters - Sometimes, saving an airline means letting go of it.

Different airlines. Same script.

When airlines begin to sink, the toughest decision is often the most necessary: dilute your stake, bring in serious investors, or step aside and let the airline survive.

Too often, promoters, in India, choose none.

Jet Airways:

Naresh Goyal resisted meaningful dilution or an exit until it was too late. Banks eventually pushed the airline into insolvency.

Kingfisher Airlines:

The elusive strategic investor never materialised because the terms were never compelling enough. Employees lost their jobs and are still owed significant dues.

GoAir:

The Wadias reportedly sought billion-dollar valuations that failed to attract buyers. Investors walked away. Employees were left jobless, with dues still unpaid.

SpiceJet: the financial struggle is now existential:

Reportedly, few suggest valuations being asked are a whopping ₹3,000–4,000 crore range, investors putting their foot down- condition Ajay Singh exits.
The promoter predictably, unwilling to relent, perhaps hoping for another bailout.

The exceptions? Or, the smarter ones :

G.R. Gopinath exited Air Deccan at the right time, was able to make two promoters squabble, created a mirage of his airline as the coveted one , a goose that lays golden eggs!

And the Government !!! found buyers for Air India sold a crumbling vintage palace as the empire itself !!!

VT-YBK was Ferried from Boeing Field in Seattle to Bengaluru via Keflavik & Cairo b/w 16th & 21st April.

YBK is Akasa Air's 15th 737 MAX 8-200, the High Density Version of the 737 MAX 8, Seating 197 Passengers.

@KaptainPetrovs In the next 5 or 7 years I don't think QP will be a hybrid model. MAX 10 do signify higher seating capacity yet aircraft range is lesser. From the start it has been a ULCC and will continue to do so. Fly dubai having the strategic geographic advantage changes everything.

Civil Aviation Minister in recent time has already started certain programme that would favor Alliance Air to revive again.
