Hello @DrSJaishankar@MEAIndia@blsinter@blscanada
I am Rahul, an Indian resident currently living in Canada with my family. Today, I am very disappointed with the services provided by BLS International in Surrey, Canada.
I booked an appointment to renew my Indian passport and visited the BLS International office in Surrey. At my first appointment, they informed me that my online application form contained errors and that I needed to upload all required documents to proceed with the renewal. They also offered to correct the application for an additional fee of $60 per applicant, which would have cost me $180 for three applicants. I refused to pay the extra fee and returned home to correct the application myself.
I carefully filled out the form again, uploaded all the necessary documents, and booked another appointment. However, I had to wait one weeks due to the cooling period between appointments, which reflects very poor online service.
At my second appointment, despite ensuring that everything was completed correctly and all required documents were uploaded, they informed me that there was a minor spelling mistake in the emergency contact address. This was not a critical error that should have prevented my application from being accepted. They also insisted that I attach additional optional documents that were not listed as mandatory in the online application form.
Once again, they suggested paying an extra $60 per applicant ($180 total) to process the application. All my documents are correct, and I have spent two valuable weeks correcting and resubmitting the form, only to be pressured into paying additional fees. It appears that each time I visit, a new minor issue is raised, seemingly to encourage payment of extra service charges.
It is my fundamental right to apply for passport renewal without being forced to pay additional fees beyond the official charges. I fully understand that if required documents are missing, the application cannot proceed. However, I have all original documents and am willing to provide them. I simply do not wish to pay extra money for services that should not be mandatory.
I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed carefully and that I be advised on how to proceed further.
Thank you.
