An Italian ethnobotanist got attacked by a gang of goats for his mushrooms.

Giorgio Samorini was 13,000 ft up in the Italian Alps, studying psychoactive fungi. While filling a bag with some Liberty caps, a male goat suddenly charged him.

He suspected they were protecting territory or maybe their offspring, but...

As soon as he hit the ground, the entire herd sprinted over and started gobbling up every single mushroom.

He watched them for a while, noticing the goats ignored all the surrounding grass and would only eat the mushrooms, until the entire patch was gone.

Then they'd run in circles, shake their heads wildly back and forth, and play for hours.

After the experience, Giorgio went on to write Animals and Psychedelics — arguing that getting high isn't a human invention.

It's a biological drive shared by every single living thing on earth.

Keith does his thing

Keith the Apocalypse Bringer is a three-year-old Anglo-Nubian goat in a field in Devon.

Keith should not be underestimated.

Keith has been systematically dismantling the ecosystem since approximately 7am, when he ate a bramble. This is significant because bramble is an invasive scrub species that outcompetes wildflowers, reduces biodiversity, and creates dense monoculture thicket that nothing else can use.

Keith ate it. Keith does this every day. Keith does not charge for this service.

8:15am - Keith ate a thistle. Thistles are also considered invasive scrub in managed pasture. Goldfinches eat thistle seeds, but Keith's grazing will ensure the pasture remains open enough for the ground-nesting birds that can't use dense scrub. Keith has not attended a conservation workshop. Keith arrived at this conclusion by being a goat.

9:00am - Keith dismantled a section of hedge. This was less helpful. Keith does not have a perfect record.

10:30am - Keith escaped the field. He was in the road for eleven minutes. He ate a neighbour's rose. This is not being counted in Keith's environmental impact assessment.

11:00am - Keith was returned to the field. Keith regarded the farmer with the specific expression of an animal that does not recognise the concept of property.

12:00pm - Keith ate more bramble. His digestive system: four stomachs, a rumen full of specialised microorganisms, the ability to extract nutrition from lignified plant matter that would defeat any other animal on this field, is converting scrub vegetation into milk with a fat content of approximately 4.5%. The milk will become cheese. The cheese will be sold at the farm shop. The farm shop is four miles away. The cheese food miles are: four.

3:00pm - Keith produced manure. The manure will grow the grass. The grass will grow the bramble. The bramble will be eaten by Keith.

This system has no inputs.

It has been running since goats were domesticated approximately ten thousand years ago.

Keith is not aware he is saving the planet.

Keith is thinking about whether the fence on the north side has a weak point.

It does. Keith found it at 4:45pm.

I now ask you to exercise the utmost possible caution to preserve the lives of civilians and my compatriots. The people of Iran are your natural allies and the allies of the free world, and they will not forget your assistance during the most difficult period of Iran’s contemporary history.

And to you, my dear compatriots in Iran:

In these sensitive hours and days, more than ever we must remain focused on our ultimate goal: reclaiming Iran.

I ask you, for now, to remain in your homes and remain calm and safe. Stay alert and ready to return to the streets for the final action at the appropriate time, which I will communicate to you.

Follow my messages through social media and satellite media. If disruptions occur in the internet and satellite broadcasts, I will remain in contact with you via radio.

We are very close to final victory. I hope to be with you as soon as possible so that together we may reclaim Iran and rebuild it.

French water giant Veolia quietly bags the contract to supply 60% of Mumbai’s drinking water by 2030 (3,000 million litres a day).

At the exact same time, Mukesh Ambani — fresh from his 2025 blockbuster entry into the ₹30,000-crore packaged water market — rolls out his shiny new “Independence” and “Campa Sure” brands, with Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador and prices slashed to ₹5 for 250 ml and ₹15 a litre.

Ambani didn’t just “step in”. He charged in like he did with Jio — undercutting everyone, partnering with regional bottlers, and positioning himself as the saviour who’ll “democratise safe drinking water”.

From whom? The poor who used to fill buckets for free at the municipal tap?

The one thing a starving man can still drink to stay alive is now fully commodified — first by a French multinational taking over the taps, then by India’s richest man ready to sell you the replacement in plastic bottles when those taps inevitably run dry or become unaffordable.

Water mafia didn’t sneak in.
It was invited with red carpets, Fortune covers, and celebrity endorsements.

Next stop: ₹50 for 500 ml while the Dalit basti queue stretches for kilometres and Ambani’s market share hits 30%.

This isn’t development.
This is the last basic necessity being auctioned off while we clap for “affordable” branded water.

Wake up, India ‼️

Before the only thing poorer than your stomach is your tap — and the only one smiling is the man who owns both the problem and the “solution”.
