Day 24:

NodeLists aren’t arrays but can I still iterate over them?

Yes you can.

It’s possible to iterate over a NodeList with forEach() even though it’s not an array. You could also convert it to a real array using Array.from()

TIL, placing the the “+” operator in front of a string performs the same conversion as Number() (which is also similar to parseInt)

Hamburger menus are tough. I spent four hours implementing the smallest change. Weirdly enough, still feel accomplished because I know next time much time will be saved.

Day 19:

Spent most of the day tackling JavaScript challenges on @hackerrank and @edabit . Solid review of the .map, .forEach, for in and for of loops

@claudiadorego Not sure if you/mom need any more Polish food in your diet, and would be surprised if you haven’t been but Cafe Polonez is a Roncy staple for a reason. Veg options might be limited but the schnitzel, pierogis and cabbage roll were all fab

The React team’s motivation for functional components with hooks:

1) It’s hard to reuse stateful logic between components

2) Complex components become hard to understand

3) Classes confuse both people and machines

Day 17, 18:

Spent a lot time in the last couple days wrapping my head around React Class components. As I speak to more devs, it seems like they are here to stay for a while. Despite the fact the docs seem to recommend functional components whenever possible!

Stepped away from code and took a couple mental health rest days. Lots of fun in the sun and 🏌️‍♂️. Was back at it today in VanillaJS land. Had fun working through JavaScript coding challenges.

Felt really challenged today in a JavaScript mock tech test. Time to review my notes and do more exercises on @edabit. Got introduced to @frontendmentor. Will be checking them out for more challenges.

My job search and accountability partner @evanyuekwan held our first daily stand-up where we discuss what we did the previous day and what we plan on doing today.

Day 10, Day 11:

Hamburger buttons are so frustrating. I got it working ok on my portfolio site for now but will scrap it and build it again another day. Thank to my instructors @darshsen and @anaorodrigues for helping me figure this all out!
