@starlightfan02 It just seems like a huge hassle to have gone back to an unedited season 1 narration clip for one scene, whatever they had digitally available would’ve been good enough as a placeholder if the pilot take was damaged.

@starlightfan02 I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that those lower tidmouth takes were good enough to begin with. He might have just re-recorded everything after that scene. He was brand new so he could’ve still just been finding his footing with tone.

The consensus always was that Ringo didn’t do the pilot. So this is either his 1984 audio or they actaully got him to come back for this. I’ll take this over the original audio any day.

Is it known if any of this Dragon cover ever actaully went out into circulation? Like is there any chance of finding this out in the wild at all? Seems weird they would have this as the prototype cover, release this for like a day and someone at Strand was like “WAIT NO STOOOP”

2/2 - Obviously using the ultimate set as the base, the goal was to make 2 full circuits for continuous 2 train running, and to include the big Thomas somewhere.

It was always common for spare parts to carry over, but only ever for things like wheels and magnets. Having a face that got a big redesign the year after it was released, carrying over to the next design change is something I’ve never seen

Been a while since I bought any TWR, but after coming across this in a lot I couldn’t resist. A 1994 Terence with a 1992/93 black wheel Terence face, with round magnets no less. I’ve looked pretty hard and couldn’t find any other examples of this, it’s always the widows peak face
