#PT582#SK Specific materials used in SOME tattoo inks may become magnetized, but it seems there needs to be more research if tattoos will be a contraindication to E-stim. However I have placed pads over tattoos as a tech with no adverse reactions! https://t.co/1xfzqKKeDM
#PT582#ARF This article talks about how passive modalities should be used to facilitate participation in an active treatment program- as active tx keeps the pt functional in the long term. Pain education should also be included. https://t.co/XVGlQ7rTkn
@JordynMaxwell2#PT582#JM this article used Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) & found no changes in disease progression, however there needs to be more research! https://t.co/XaXhowXYmj
@Riley_shae98#PT582#RI this article talks about how EMS has to be used with a specific protocol & may only have positive results with the less- trained athlete https://t.co/aVuvGkYxVA
Thanks everyone for a great discussion on the importance of promoting health and wellness in our practices! I look forward to working alongside all of you in the future! #PT582#RT@NAUPT582
@EmilySelby_SPT#PT582#RT I think these classes will be very beneficial! I definitely struggle trying to motivate others and I am excited to learn better techniques. Motivation is going to be vital to make sure our patients adhere to our plans!
@Riley_shae98#PT582#RT I agree! Some patients will definitely become dependent on their visits to heal them, but need to be informed of the work they are going to have to put in outside. It's our jobs to make a plan they will stick to!
@kolbyareed#PT582#RT That's a great idea! I think mobile health is going to continually increase and is a great way to stay connected with our patients.
@_Erin_Peterson @Kiernan20732093 #PT582#RT Exactly! I think it would also be very beneficial to ask them if there is a hobby they've always wanted to do but were not able to so that they are excited and working towards something they thought they'd never do!
@LukasBarker#PT582#RT I think tailoring our plans to the patient is going to be vital to their adherence with their exercise program. Asking their hobbies, or even things that they have always wanted to do but haven't is a great start!
@HaydenHoekstra#PT582#RT I think that's a great idea! We need to be patient and realistic, while also informing them of the recommended guidelines so that they have a goal to work towards!
@EmilioA43040616#PT582#RT Leading by example is huge! We definitely need to evaluate ourselves and make sure we are practicing the advice we are giving. Each pt is different and we may need to check in with them frequently as a source of motivation.
@JessicaTeply#PT582#RT We definitely need to take experience levels into consideration so that we are prescribing realistic exercises. I think results and success w/ these will decrease fear and increase adherence!
@McCarthyShealey#PT582#RT Motivation is key! We have to inform them of the benefits and present it to them with their own goals in mind so that they are more likely to adhere!
@MorganDrew16#PT582#RT The APTA is a great resource! We definitely don't have to 'reinvent the wheel' and a lot of useful tools are already available to us!
