A news crew covering tragedy suddenly became part of the story.

NBC4's NewsChopper4 crashed in a Chatsworth parking lot, killing aerial photojournalist Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw, a pedestrian on the ground, and injuring two others.

NBC4 confirmed the loss live on air after the station lost contact with its crew, a devastating moment for colleagues who worked alongside Moreno and Marciniw.

Moreno had flown with the helicopter team since 2010, reporting from above for NBC4 and Telemundo 52.

Now investigators are trying to determine what caused NewsChopper4 to suddenly go down.
